Ob appointment

After my scan I had my diabetic appointment and an ob appointment.
Both were short and sweet.
The ob appointment however was eventful.
She told me that I would not be going full time. They will induce me at around 38 weeks maybe before.
They will keep an eye and they will do what they can to keep it as natural as possible.
But no water birth for me... Boo!!
BUT!!!! Lots of drugs!!!!! Yay!!!!!
Lol

that sucks, they were going to induce me at 38 weeks due to age and diabetes, of course my body had different plans and developed gallstones... Only 10 weeks more Smile

I have been told c-section @39 weeks, so we will be having our little ones very close together!

I remember feeling very uncomfortable at the end (and I have small babies and have only gone 37/38 weeks). You might be glad by 38 weeks to have the end in sight. I always feel like there is a bowling ball between my leg by 35/36 weeks.

Do they think your baby is going to be big or is it just due to having hard to control sugar?

Hmmm... I remember repkying to this.
Just seen that my reply is not here.

They think genus big now. Over 3lbs last Wednesday.
Not that that is always accurate.

But they said that there is a higher risk of stillbirth in gestational diabetes so...
I will follow their instructions!!!!!!

Glad things went well and love your upbeat attitude as always...!!! Smile Your little guy will come at the perfect time and he will be perfect!! Smile Our babies will (hopefully....) be born around the same time, provided mine isn't super early or late.. that's so exciting Biggrin

@ 29 weeks, the ultrasound tech said our baby was measuring 3lb 5oz Fool ...was starting to freak out a little til the midwife said they're not really accurate since the tech was just going off measurements.. still - that was good incentive to me to start
watching a little more closely what I eat haha.

Yeah... I know it can be off.
He's up to 3lb 8 at 29 weeks 2 days.
Hoping he'll just slow down. But... Hey ho!
Not interested in being induced now... They can unwind the sunroof and bring him through!!! Lol
I'll ask for a tummy tuck while they are at it!!! Lol

lol!! just remember, the margin of error for u/s measurement after 13 weeks is +/- 2 pounds! that's a whole kg! and the margin gets wider as the pregnancy progresses, so your 3lb baby could really be only 1 lbs or 5!! but that's super unlikely esp if you're being good and taking care of your GD, you're at a lower risk of those complications.
also, remember to put yourself in the best situation to work with your body, and "big" baby can be born vaginally as long as he has the freedom to move himself into the optimal position and you have the freedom to move and push in positions that create the most space in your pelvis (i.e. hands and knees!) One of the MW's I've worked with delivered an 11lb baby over an intact perineum AT HOME!! (that means no tears!!) so it CAN be done!!

I have a friend who is an ex midwife and she thinks I am too tiny to deliver via the v.
We'll see what happens.
Still isn't real to me yet Smile

My u/s 2 days before Robbie was born had him at 4.14, he was 4.12 at birth so pretty good guess on their part. They never told me the weights at the other u/s, then again I was having so many I probably wouldn't have remembered, even with the gallstone u/s they would look at Robbie.
