Scared the crap outta myself this morning...

I was feeling nervous anyway this morning bc I hadn't tested in a few days and bc of my history w/ loss and the icing on the cake is that I have a stupid anxiety disorder so I worry all the time anyway. So I was out of pg tests but had some O tests and thought I'd use those to reassure me. Bad idea. The first one I took was a target brand o test (target version of answer brand) and it wasn't positive close but def not there, so them I used an IC which was + but both lines were light for some odd reason. So I started freaking. Course this was all before school and I had to take the kids to school. Right after I did I drove straight to Walgreens and bought some pg tests. Thankfully the line was super dark. Phew!! As soon as the pee crossed the window I watched it blaze up! No idea what was up w/ the OPKs.

Phew! Don't do that! Lol. I had a similar experience about a week ago. I just felt like I wanted to poas again, so I got a dollar tree test. The line was really light! I freaked out for a good day or two (anxiety here too... ugh), and did a lot of reading about DT tests and found that a lot of people have similar experiences with them. It reassured me somewhat, but I told myself I wasn't going to do that again. Knowing me the line could be super dark and I'd find something to worry about anyway! I'm just going to assume I'm still pregnant until further notice, ha.

:lurk:

Toss out the opks, they aren't pregnancy tests. Also, while I completely understand the POAS addiction, sometimes it makes it worse, especially with anxiety (I have an anxiety disorder too). If you are worried about the levels the darkness of the line after it is already so dark, I would say get the doctor to prescribe some blood tests, maybe a weekly one until you feel more settled (this is the part of working at a lab that i miss, having access to run a test when I feel like)?

ETA: That is a lovely dark line.

Jessica yeah I think I cured myself of POAS addiction. Sorry it happened to you too!

Mary they are already in the trash lol! I threw them out immediately they expire soon anyway. I wish I could get blood tests ordered but my OB office doesn't do them unless you are having a lot of problems, like bleeding but your too early for u/s, etc. I have to just wait it out til my u/s on the 27th.

I tend to yell until they give me my way... It's silly because it's not like it causes them a whole lot of extra work.

Yeah I don't know if it'd get me anywhere. With one of my other babes I tried pleading and crying once though with one of the male OBs he was not the most understanding. It was then I switched to seeing the female CNMW whom I love she had just joined the practice back then. She could order the tests but she is pretty hands off as well but if I cried I'm pretty sure she'd do it. I really don't know why they are so old fashioned thinking maybe bc most of them are old lol? It used to be a huge pain to get an u/s there too you had to have a good reason. I dont understand what it really matters to them if the do b/w or extra u/s but it does. At least now they do u/s routinely. They are the only OB practice in town so it'd not like I have a lot of options unless I want to drive 90 mins.
