How many children are in the family that you grew up in, and what number are you? How has that effected the size of family you you want to have?

I nursed my twins for 2years and 2 weeks! A little sad to be all done now.

I am the second of eight children, four boys, four girls. Was raised with all eight, but four are half siblings, and 3 are adopted, in family adoptions. But I consider them all my "real" siblings because we were all raised together, and well, they are not imaginary.

As a teen I wanted ten children. Once I was closer to marrying, I wanted five. Dh always wanted 3 or 4. He grew up with two full siblings, and in about 5th grade his dad remarried a lady that had 5 children, and then they had another five together. We ad our four with the twins, and I really think he was kind of hoping we were done, but I just wasn't sure. Now that number five is on the way, we both feel like this is the last one, our family is complete.

I'm the oldest of 2 and dh is the oldest of 3. We lived way out in the sticks and getting together with our cousins was the highlight of my year. So, I wanted our kids to have a bigger family. I always pictured having 2 boys and then a girl and that's exactly what we have now. So I'm very blessed for sure, but we just didn't feel ready to be done I guess. So here we go! This is definitely the last though. They'll be making sure of it when I have my C-section.

Crystal, I'm also deciding what to do for permanent birth control after this baby. Could have another section, and have my tubes tied then, but I kind of want to try for a vaginal again (2 prior csections). But I also have pelvic congestion syndrome, which will probably eventually make for a hysterectomy, so not sure if I want to spend money on a tubal. Decision!
