I bought Ella's snowsuit yesterday! I noticed they had the winter gear out last week and saw some cute ones so I thought I should snatch it up pretty soon before they were out of her size - I was right! When I went to buy it yesterday they only had one in size 1T left! So I bought her a snowsuit (parka and snowpants), boots, hat, and mitts. It's so cute!

It's so weird to be buying winter clothes for her now, especially since we've got such warm weather this week, but to be honest - sometimes we have snow by Halloween, and that's only just over a month away! Last year it didn't come until mid November, so we'll see what happens this year.
Ella is SO funny lately. She says "uh-oh" all day long, about everything! Whenever she falls down, or when I drop something, or when she's done eating.....LOL. HA HA, she just started saying it right now for no reason - it's so cute! Can't believe she's 14 months already!

Ella is finally starting to try walking more often - ever since her first steps she has had to be coaxed in to taking steps. But now, she is starting to get more confident and taking off on her own! She is still falling down and only taking 5 or 6 at a time, but she is practicing a lot! Also, yesterday in the tub, she stood up without pulling up on something - she just went from her bum, got her feet underneath her, and stood straight up! I was so happy, I didn't know she could do that! She plays a lot standing up now - she'll bend down to pick up a toy or book and then stand back up to play with it - I think she'll be off and running in no time now! She still does feel more comfortable cruising, but I don't think it'll be long.
Yesterday I actually went to workout at the gym for the first time in FOREVER - normally when we go there I'm working in the daycare! So Ella is used to me being in there with her, but she did fine when I left her on her own. She was SO excited to see me though when I came back after an hour - she noticed me sit down beside her and she got this huge smile and started laughing and walked towards me for a big hug! It was great.

I'm not too happy with Ella's new sleep schedule........
She is still taking two naps, because it is so hard for her to make it until after lunch. She's exhausted by 10 am. Mostly I think it's due to the fact that she's getting up before 7 am every day now - usually around 6:30. She used to sleep past 8 am! Even when she goes to bed late, she still gets up early. One night MIL was babysitting and putting her to bed, but she wouldn't go to sleep until 10:30 pm - and she still got up at 6 am.
I wonder if I switched to one nap instead of two - that way she'd have less nap time during the day, and be more tired at night and therefore sleep longer? But I have a feeling that would blow up in my face. And I DO enjoy her two naptimes to have some me time.
Ah, I'm not sure what to do. But getting up at 6 sure sucks, especially when pregnant - I'm so tired.
Also, she's become really needy and whiny lately - she only wants me to play with her or sit with her, I can't do anything else or she whines at me to come be with her - I guess I should appreciate that she wants to be with me now, since when she's a teenager she sure won't! But she won't even let me check my email or do the dishes, she just cries at me and yells! Which is why I love the two naptimes........

Yay! I bought Ella's Halloween costume today! I decided to go with the monkey - I was torn between the monkey and the mouse, but I figured since she was a banana last year, it was only fitting that she move up the food chain ;). It's so cute! I know lots of people dress their kids as monkeys (it seemed to be the most popular costume in the store) but little Ella Bella is such a monkey, I couldn't resist.
Here she is modeling her costume for me today - she LOVED it! She didn't even mind the hood, and she liked to see her monkey-self in the mirror.

Ah ha ha ha ha ha!
Still having sleep/nap woes. What to do, what to do....

Well, this is now Day #4 of Ella's back-to-two-naps-a-day trend. It's bizarre! For a while there she only wanted one nap a day, but she wanted to take it at 9:30 am! And then she'd be up all afternoon and grumpy as heck! And she'd try to go to bed early, but with her already waking up at 6 am every day, i was NOT putting her to bed early.
So this week things have gone well. She's gotten up closer to 7 am and had 2 naps a day. I know it's almost time to phase her to one nap, but if she's going to give me 2.....I'll take them!
Such a little monkey. Every time I clean something up, I draw her attention to it, so she comes right over and messes it up to play with again! Life with a toddler, I suppose.....;)

Ella and I were supposed to go to playgroup today - we were going to a pumpkin maze. But Ella got up at like, 5 am, so she fell asleep in the car at 8:30 after dropping DH off. So I brought her home and put her to bed, and I didn't have the heart to wake her at 9:30 to go to playgroup. She was sleeping so soundly, even when I went in there to check on her she didn't budge an inch.
Why on earth she got up at 5 am is beyond me - WHY? WHY??

We got DUMPED on on Sunday afternoon-Monday morning with SNOW! Ella was so enthralled when she woke up from her nap. She looked out the window and then walked slowly towards it, mesmerized by the falling snow. She chatted away about it, pointing and laughing! It was so cute to watch! So Monday afternoon, we went out to explore!
After Ella had some lunch, we got all bundled up to go outside in the snow - it's not really that cold out, but I wanted to see her snowsuit in action! The snow is melting and dripping off the trees - so it was raining on her! She did NOT enjoy the snow falling down on her neck! She didn't want to touch the snow, she was a little too tentative! She talked and talked about it though, pointing at it and at the trees covered in white. Here are some pictures, and a video of Ella getting dumped on (much to her chagrin!):
Getting all bundled up (snowpants, boots, hat, jacket, mitts......)

I keep forgetting to post about the words Ella can say now! Her first word was at her birthday party, she said "bubbles" four times in a row while looking at a book that had a pic of a baby in a bubble bath - but she never said it again!
Her first word that she still continues to say is "uh oh". She says it ALL the time! Mostly when her ball rolls under the couch or when she falls down. But in the past few weeks she has picked up some more!
She says:
uh oh
Bob
duck
poop
woah
oh
My stepdad's name is Bob, and she says his name everytime she sees him! It's so funny. She just started saying 'duck' and 'poop' this past week. She says duck about her rubber ducky, or pictures of ducks in books, and she says poop now when I change her poopy bum! LOL - is that inappropriate for a first word? I wanted to make her aware of when she was going poop so I can start potty training this winter - so every time she poops, I say "uh oh, poo poo" while I'm changing her diaper. And now when I lay her down to change her she goes "poop.....poop" LOL it's so funny! She also says "woah" and "oh" when she is surprised or excited - like when she saw the snow outside, or when I took her in the shower today and the water first hit her (she's used to baths).
So, my little beanie is getting smarter!

Ugh. I need to vent, or I might throttle my child.
Ella had been doing so well at night lately - sleeping in until after 8 am two days in a row this week! She also switched to one nap since she got up so nice and late.
Well, then last night she went to sleep at 7:40 pm. By 9 pm she was waking up crying every 10 minutes. By 10:30 I brought her in to bed with DH and I and we put her favorite show on. Turns out her nose is all plugged up out of nowhere, and she has a bad cold. Shoot! So I'm in for a rough night. Well, I was up every 10 minutes from 11 pm to 4 am, and then we got up for good at 5 am. Sometime in the night DH went to sleep in her room (after I had been in there for 4 hours - it's just easier to get up and comfort her if you sleep on the bed in there) so I thought he was going to take over. Unfortunately, being 4 feet away from the crib didn't help - he slept right through every time she woke up, so I had to get up and go put her back to sleep anyways. Then he slept until 7 am, while Ella and I were downstairs playing and eating breakfast. By 8 am I put her back to sleep, she only slept until 9:30. So back up we got.
She's just a complete disaster today, her face is running like a fountain and she's mad as heck about everything. It's 11:45 and I just put her down again, but she keeps sneezing and blowing snot all over her face and waking up. Then she freaks out when I wipe her nose and yells at me.
I am SO tired. I know DH is tired too, he's super busy with midterms right now and other things, and he is gone for 17 hours a day, but I am so pooped. I'm GROWING A HUMAN INSIDE ME for heaven's sake. Baby is causing sore back and sore tummy right now. I think I just need to sleep, but there is so much to do in this dirty house.
Get better soon Ella Bee.

Well, her cold is mostly diminished - still a bit snotty, but at least she's been sleeping at night! There were about 3 or 4 bad nights, but I bought a humidifier, and she started to mend, so she's doing a lot better.
She has some more new words! She says:
hello (ahh-ohh) when she picks up the phone
cheese (she said it once after I told her what she was eating, she repeated it)
And she also does "all done" with her hands - she puts them both out to the side with palms up to show me that she's all done, or it's all gone. Cute!
He new favorite words is "woah" though - she says it ALL the time! She'll throw her ball around the living room and say "WOAH!" after she throws it like she's amazed that she could throw it so well! Silly bean.
We're alternating between 2 and 1 naps a day. It all depends on when she gets up. If she gets up at 8:30, she only has one nap. If she gets up at 7:30 or earlier, she has two. Today she was up at 7:20, so she's having a morning nap right now - but it took her a while to fall asleep, little monkey.
Tonight we are going to a 'Trunk or Treat" party at church. There are games and trunk or treating in the parking lot. Don't worry, I'll take lots of pics of Ella in hr costume, but they won't be posted until next week - today I'm doing a DITL, and I'll post it all together next week on my assigned day.
