A DITL of Ella Marie ~ This took place on October 28, 2008

Good morning! Every morning I get in to bed with Mommy for a snuggle/diaper change/TV time. Daddy is already gone for the day.

I watch Super Why! in Mom's bed - she PVR's it so I can watch many episodes at any time of day! I also get my pee-pee overnight bum changed.

Sometimes I read some books in bed too. Mom likes it when I stay in bed and watch TV and read because then she can sleep a little longer!

    Time to go downstairs!

Now I eat breakfast while I watch Bo on the Go! I start with a banana....

And I also have some jam toast. Mommy is eating oatmeal. She's trying to be healthier because she's growing my baby brother.

While Mommy is eating she does some important business.

Then, I finish up breakfast with some peach yogurt. Mom feeds it to me because I am too messy. After that, I am "all done"!

Uh oh! Look at this mess! We had a late night last night and Mom was too tired to clean up before bed - so it's time to tidy up yesterday's mess!

I help mom clean and vacuum. Ta da! All done!

Next, I play a song or two on my piano! I even dance to some of the music it makes!

Now I find some toys to play with this morning....I dive in to my toy bin and find the good ones!

Oh dear! Not only is our kitchen USUALLY the ugliest kitchen known to man, right now it is especially gross! We don't have a dishwasher, and the dishes have gotten away from Mom! That big belly of hers gets in the way, and she HATES doing dishes - please, don't look at her with disdain! Time to clean up!

While she's doing dishes, I play in the living room - I get a little lonely, so I whine at her a bit - she gives me apple juice and I'm much better! Juice is a nice treat for me.

Look at the time! Mom is all done cleaning now, and I'm just playing with my friend in the mirror.

I also like to look at my photo album - look, that's me! I read some more good books too.

Now I'm ready for my nap - down I go!

While I'm napping, Mom catches up on her Baby Journal (about me!) and Pregnancy Journal (about my brother!) on Preg.org Where did the time go?

Hello? Mom? Are you coming to get me now? I'm awake! I get to lie in my big girl bed when I wake up - Mom has it all set up in my room, and next month, I'm going to start sleeping in there - She hopes!

I get my pee-pee bum changed and we go downstairs to put some clothes on for the day.

Uh oh! Poo-poo! Not 5 minutes after I'm dressed, I make a huge stink in my pants. Sorry mom!

All clean again, it's time for lunch! I have grilled cheese and turkey sandwich and apple slices. Mom has cream of chicken soup.

Mom, I'm all done! Now Mom goes to the Super Why website so I can listen to music there. It distracts me while Mom is doing my hair.

I love Super Why! And now I have clips in my hair!

All ready for the afternoon! Mom and I walk out to the car, we have errands to run.

Off we go! I love the car!

We go to the mall - Mom shops in Walmart and Motherhood Maternity. In Motherhood, I make an uh oh poo-poo! So we go off to the washroom once Mom is done. After she buys us a fruit smoothie to share in the food court.

Look what mom bought me! I test it out in the parking lot. And here are all Mom's bags....

Off home we go! When we get home, it is so beautiful outside that Mom lets me play in the yard.

Back inside, I play for a bit: "Ah-woah?"

Now I'm getting pretty tired. I have a sippy of milk in my big girl bed.

Turn out the lights Mom! I'm TIRED!

While I'm napping, Mom reads some Jane Austen on the couch and dozes off. All those dishes this morning and shopping tired her out too!
Hello! I'm very happy after my nap!

Now that I'm awake, Mom is in a hurry! Tonight we are going to a Trunk or Treat activity at our church! I quickly eat some supper (leftover soup from Mom's lunch with added veggies....)

I also have some crackers and applesauce. Then I'm 'all done"!

Time to get ready! Mom puts my costume on....

Off we go! Good time Mom!

Here we are at the church! Inside in the gym there are lots of activities. Outside you can trunk or treat in the parking lot! I like this pumpkin and the orange balloon I find!

Here is my friend Willow - she's a ladybug!

I go outside and get some candy! Mostly I just run away from Mom. Back inside I check out my loot! Mom lets me have a sucker!

After the party, Mom has to stay at the church for a meeting. When it's all over and we get home, I'm pooped! It's past my bedtime!

We brush my teeth to get rid of all that sugar! Then it's off to sleep with a sippy of milk! Good night!

Daddy gets home around 10:40 at night, and then him and Mommy go to sleep.....lots of days I miss my daddy a lot! Thanks for sharing my day with me!

Ella is starting to be such a funny little person! She's always trying to get us to chase her, peeking around corners, or going places she knows she's not allowed just so we'll come chase her out! She's laughing a lot now - sometimes just to herself, about nothing!

She's also got two molars that have cut through! That makes 10 teeth now.

She says 3 new words, but they all sound the same
    Apple: "Bap-bah"
    Bubbles "Ba-bah"
    Baby "Ba-ba"

LOL, only a mother can distinguish them! It's so funny too because she says them in this cute little gentle voice, all soft and girly. Makes me crack up!

Well, I've officially made the switch to one nap a day! Last week I was debating it because she was not sleeping as long and taking FOREVER to fall asleep for her 2 naps.

Well, Thursday night we had a disaster. She went to bed at 8:40 and woke up at 11, just as I was going to bed. She was up for THREE HOURS, screaming at the top of her lungs. I had no idea what was going on! Finally she went to bed at 2 am.

She napped fine on Friday, twice. I decided not to switch the nap schedule yet because she had such a bad night. But then Friday night.....she was up from 1 am to 4 am SCREAMING again! Once again, THREE HOURS of craziness. DH slept downstairs on the couch.

Saturday I decided I'd had ENOUGH! She didn't wake up until after 8 am, since she'd only gone back down at 4 am. Since she got up so late, I decided "To heck with it! ONE NAP ONLY!"

She was a bit difficult to keep awake and happy, but we did it. She went to sleep around 12:30. She slept for 2 hours, got up at 2:30, and stayed up until bedtime around 8 pm (quite grumpily). Miraculously, she didn't wake up during the night to scream at us!

Day #2 - Sunday. One nap only - for THREE HOURS! She slept from 1:30 to 4:30, it was so lovely! She was very good during the day and didn't even get too grumpy! She slept well last night too!

Day #3 - TODAY! She is right now down for her nap. It's been an hour so far. Even though she got up at 6:30 am today, she managed to stay awake until 1 pm.

I feel very good about this change - don't want to jinx it, but it seems to be working great, and much better for Ella as well as myself! I hope I can keep her to 2-3 hours at a time for her naps (three would be lovely )

Too bad tomorrow she has immunizations booked for 1:40 pm - BAH! I booked that before we made the switch, so now I have to keep her up super late tomorrow before she naps! Or two naps. Poop. Bad planning.

Well, poor little beanie had 4 shots today. MMR, Chicken Pox, Meningococcal, and Influenza. She almost tried to hit the nurse I think she was SO mad at her! But she was playing and climbing around normally within 5 minutes.

Her stats for 16 months are:
    22 lbs 5 oz (10-25 %)
    32 inches (75-90%)
And her head circumference is in the 95th %

She's doing great! The nurse was very impressed with her babbling sounds and I told her she can say about 10 words as well, and she was really impressed with that. She also commented that she's walking very well, and seemed satisfied with her ability to follow simple commands and point to body parts. (Ella can do ears, eyes, nose, teeth, hair, and belly button) The nurse was also happy about the number of teeth (10) - so all in all, Ella is right on track.

Unfortunately, she's supposed to go back for the second dose of flu vacc right around the time I'm due to give birth! I guess DH might have to take her (he'll probably refuse!) Why is it that Moms can handle seeing their children in pain better than dad's can?

Sick Baby This is the first time Ella has ever had diarrhea - I guess that makes me lucky! She's had runny poops, but nothing ever like this.

Sunday morning we were all ready to go to church. DH and I were both doing our hair in the bathroom. Ella was playing in the living room. As soon as we left the bathroom (mind you were were still in a different room than Ella, and at least 20 feet away) DH thought maybe the sewer had backed up! It was the most revolting smell EVER. He was like "That can't POSSIBLY be Ella" and yet, it was. I nearly fainted when I bent over and sniffed at her.
We proceeded to change the largest, grossest diarrhea diaper EVER.....which had leaked all over her white tights and white dress. Straight in to the tub she went.
More gross diapers yesterday and this morning. Add to it that she now has a diaper rash from so much pooping and every diaper change is a NIGHTMARE with how much she hurts down there.
Last night my family was babysitting while I was at choir - Ella didn't go to sleep for them - probably because she was too busy pooping. So she was up until 10 pm. I thought she would sleep in - nope. Got up at 5:30 am. Lately she's been sleeping til about 8 am.......but she had a huge blowout around 6:30 am so that's why she was up I guess.

Now I'm just debating if it's a stomach bug or if it's a new food - I didn't realize until this morning that she's had a mandarin orange every day since Saturday, and she's never had one before. We don't really eat regular oranges either, so she hasn't had one of those for months. But her first mandarin orange was Saturday afternoon, and the diarrhea started Sunday morning. Maybe???

For now, she's drinking water and pedialyte, eating crackers, cereal, toast, and bananas. I was going to let MIL bring her to the U/S I have today (DH isn't coming, so I thought MIL could come and watch Ella) but I think they'll be staying home and I'll be going by myself!

Eeek it's been a while! Little Ella Bee is doing fine now, but it took her a good week to get over the runny poops.

We're now starting to immerse ourselves in the holidays! Yesterday we had Christmas with DH's family, and it was great! Ella is so happy about her new toys! It was also like Christmas for little Mr. in my belly too, because SIL brought over a MOTHERLOAD of boys baby clothes! She has a 9 month old boy now, but he's wearing 12-18 month clothes, and she brought over everything that is too small for him! I am SO SO grateful, I have clothes coming out of my ears now for baby boy, when before I had hardly anything!

Anyways, here are a few pics....

MIL and FIL got DH and I this beautiful picture! We didn't even know that one day while watching Ella, she took her and her cousin to the pumpkin patch and got photos taken - then she had one blown up and framed for us! Isn't it beautiful! I can't wait to hang it up! I didn't even get any pumpkin photos of Ella this year and I am so happy!

Ella got some great things (to keep her occupied for the next few months since it's so darn cold outside!) She got a xylophone/piano, alphabet blocks, cars, and tons of puzzles!

MIL and FIL also got me a gorgeous 15" digital picture frame! And they got DH a PS3 Oh great......

Here are all the clothes from SIL! There must be 35 sleepers, 20 onesies, 20 pairs of socks, 5 pairs of shoes, 4 sweaters, 20 pairs of pants, 2 bathing suits, 5 hats, 10 rompers, and 5 pairs of overalls!
