    Wow! What a busy weekend.

Friday we made a stop at Sam's Club. I picked up a baby girl outfit for my on-line baby gift exchange. It is sooo cute and was a great opportunity for me to buy a gift for a girl baby (We don't yet know what Rick and Anita are having, but we find out soon!!) The gifts will be mailed before May 15. I can't wait to see what we get for Elias!

Saturday morning I was a cleaning demon! I vacuumed, dusted, swept, mopped, and did laundry. I washed all of Elias's clothes and diapers. Somehow I managed to lose one sock, which I feel terrible about. Here he's not even born and already he's missing a sock! After cleaning I tried to take a nap but it didn't work. So, I ate lunch and went shopping. I returned the carseat that John and Andrea gave us because we decided that we liked another one better. But, Target only had one carseat of the one that we liked and it was sitting there wide open. Not know if all the parts were there, I left it. I also bought Elias the 4 position bathtub with a gift certificate that Chris, Scott, and Sage gave us.

After Target I went to Joann's. That place is so fun and so bad for my spending habits. They had Simplicity patterns on sale for $1 so I got two patterns for maternity clothes and 3 for curtains around the house including Elias' room. I bought material for a dress, curtains, two tops, and a skirt and only spent $36 on them. I also picked up Mother's Day presents and scrapbooking supplies. I spent too much and put it on my credit card. I know - I'm terrible.

I stopped at a second Target on the way home and they had the car seat. I bought it and lugged it out to the car. I am sure it looked really funny to see me trying to stuff this huge box into the back seat of my car. The trunk is still not working so putting it there was out of the question. By this point I was very hungry, so I headed home. When Christopher got home we put the seat in the car. We asked for help from our neighbor Bob. Bob thought it was a great car seat. It sits in the middle of the backseat of my car perfectly.

Charles and 15 of his Phoenix hiking buddies had been in Tucson to do a hike. They had gone to Thunder Canyon Brewery for dinner so we stopped in to see them. I had dessert because I had already eaten. It was a completely sinful brownie sundae and it was really good. Everyone else at normal food so I am sure I just looked like a pregnant piggy!

Sunday I got up and immediately began working on the dress that I had bought material for. By noon it was done and it looks great. As soon as I get Christopher to take a picture of it, I will post it. I made the dress for a wedding that I am attending on the Sunday before Memorial Day in Missouri. I'm gonna be so cute!

When I finished the dress and the rest of Christopher's dinner from TCB, I went out and cleaned the pool and tested the water and blew up the pool toys and then hopped in. I floated around by myself for a few hours. It was great! Christopher was sleeping so he missed out on all of the fun. I kept falling off the pool toys!

After a shower I headed out to the grocery store - ok Walmart. When I got home I made a romantic dinner for me and Christopher and then we watched Cold Creek Manor before bed. Luckily it was not too scary of a movie and I was able to sleep. Actually the scariest part of the movie was occurring in our living room - me trying to get up off the couch to pee every 30 minutes. Maybe that was the funniest part of the movie - not the scariest!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Last night I worked on the skirt that I am making for Thursday. It doesn't look too good right now. We'll see how things go with it tonight and then I will decide if I am actually going to wear it.

For dinner last night I made Tuscan Sandwiches. They were really good. They had kale on them, which I have never eaten before. Elias must have liked them too because he was really squirmy last night.

I am soooo sleepy. I can't seem to get a good stretch of sleep. I have alot of dreams and often wake up on my back. It is making it hard to get anything done at work. Especially the boring work that I am doing right now. I have to get certified for human subjects testing. I have been working on the test all day. It just puts me to sleep. I had better put some music back on so that I can stay awake.

    Yesterday was quite a day!

I had an appointment and had to take the glucose tolerance test. It really wasn't that bad. I had been hoping to see the doctor but she was busy so I saw the np. I guess I will have to save my questions for next time (two weeks away!). This np said that my weight was right on target, which I knew anyway. At least she did not say I was getting fat like the last one did.

I came to work after the appointment. As Christopher and I were driving home the car broke down. We think it is the fuel pump - again. We sat on the side of the road for an hour. It was 100 degrees but there was an ocatillo near my car so I sat in it's shade. As the tow truck showed up a fire truck also pulled over to check on us. It was so funny, the firman said, "I drove by once and didn't stop but decided to come back because I realized - Whoa! She's got an extra load there!" Of course he was referring to my belly. It was funny anyway. The tow truck guy did not even charge us for towing our car and he helped Christopher to get it into the garage. That was really nice of him.

After we finally got home I was starving and did not feel like cooking so I had my first fast food in years. We went to Carl's Jr. I had a Sante Fe chicken sandwich and nachos. It was so good. Then we went to the grocery store to get soy milk (I really mean ice cream) and juice.

I watched Angel last night and thought it was really funny.

Sleeping last night sucked. I was so hot and could not get comfortable. I am not sure how much actual sleep I got, I kept thinking about things and sweating and tossing and turning. It was totally unlike me.

Today I had a presentation at the ILC of the project that I have been working on. I wore the purple dress that I made for Angela's wedding. I did not get the other clothes I had planned on making finished. But, that's ok because everyone who has seen the dress thinks it looks really good. I have gotten many compliments today.

Friday I met for lunch with another pregger from mothering.com. She was really nice and I hope that we meet again this week for at least a drink. It was supposed to be lunch again, but I doubt we can afford it. It was just so nice to talk to someone else who is preggers.

When I got back to the chemistry building after lunch they had been spraypainting and the fumes drove me out of the building. Christopher drove me home and I spent most of the rest of the day in bed.

Saturday morning I attempted to clean but was not that interested in it. Instead I went upstairs to work on a shirt I was sewing for myself. Part way through the shirt I discovered that it was not going to fit, so I quit and started working on Elias' curtains. Christopher came home from school and we got into the pool for a little bit. For dinner I made Mexican Lasagna and then we went to see the new Lowe's. We really want new tile for the library and dining room before Elias comes. Lowe's didn't have anything in our price range so we stopped by Home Depot. Over all it was a real bummer of a trip.

When we got home all of the neighbors were out in the street talking. I was pretty tired but attempted conversation for a little bit. Then I went to bed.

Sunday we went to the 7 am Mass. I don't understand how a church that size can not have a chior for every Mass. The Deacon gave away flowers to the mothers with the most and least experience. Christopher said I am not a mother, so I didn't get one. The mother with the least experience had a baby who was probably close to 1 year old.

After church we rode our bikes around the neighborhood and into the desert looking at cactus flowers. Many varities are in bloom right now including saguaros. I got pretty hot and a little bit of a sunburn on my shoulders. When we got home we went to The Donut Wheel for some donuts - as my Mother-to-be Day present. I just wish Christopher would acknowledge that I am going through alot with the baby and I already have to take care of him and I really am a MOTHER! Anyway, I pigged out on donuts and then we went swimming for an hour. I worked on Elias' curtains until around 6:30pm when I ate dinner and got ready for Survivor. While I watched Survivor I sewed buttons onto the tabs for Elias' curtains. My ribs were hurting pretty bad so I did not finish. I should be able to finish tonight - if I am not too sleepy.

I read in one of my pregger books that I am not supposed to fly after this week... hmm... well I am going to Missouri at the end of the month. Hopefully everything will be ok. I'll just drink tons of water and get up to pee frequently! It is really two short flights, so I should be ok - I hope.

Last night I didn't watch any tv! It was a breakthrough night for me. I just know it! haha

I did finish sewing the buttons onto Elias' curtains and Christopher and I held them up in the window to see what they would look like. I think they are going to be quite cute.

I also finished writing all of my thank you notes. Those of you getting one should expect it in a few days. I still have to get the addresses on them and the stamps.

Last night Christopher and I read about breastfeeding and fitting it into our busy lives. It looks like it is going to be interesting.

Last week turned out to be insanely busy here at work so I did not have time to update. We had to get a proposal into Human Subjects so that we can get approved to do research starting this summer. I spent most of my time working on that. This week I am supposed to start working out the details of what we are going to have our visiting teachers do. I have a book to read for this and I can't get myself motivated to do that

Sunday Christopher and I toured the birth center. I was very pleased with everything they showed us and told us about their policies. Elias will never leave the room. We can have whomever we want in the room during the birth. I get to hold him as soon as he is born. They encourage breastfeeding, moving around during labor, and using the shower during labor. They put a special tag on the bellybutton that causes an alarm to go off if the baby leaves the hospital without us or them knowing. All of these things made me feel much better about the whole birth thing.

I got my hair cut over the weekend. Before picture: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...43852556MipZpp
After picture: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...43852387qDrDaB I just could not stand my hair anymore. It was so hot and heavy. I could also see it being grabbed and pulled and in the way of breastfeeding...So, it's gone. Christopher was not too excited about me getting it cut but I think that he likes it.

Tuesday Christopher was supposed to have jury duty but his juror group did not get called. He stayed home instead and worked on things around the house to get ready for Elias. When I came home he had wooden letters ELIAS sitting on the counter as a surprise for me. The surprise ended up being for my mother who had also bought the letters as a gift for me for when I get to Missouri and she already had them wrapped up. When I told her what Christopher had gotten me she said she would return hers. It was funny.

Yesterday I was supposed to have an appointment. I was once again anticipating this appointment because I wanted to have a chat with my OB about birth stuff. Well, after being there and waiting for an hour and a half, the Dr. got called away for a birth. So, once again I did not get to see her. In fact, I did not see anyone because they wanted me to wait who knows how long and see the np. We were hungry (Christopher and I) so I just scheduled my next appointment for in 2 weeks and left against their advice. I'm sorry, I understand that doctors get called away but we had been there forever already.

Last night Christopher and I talked a bit about birth and fantasized a bit about Elias. He rubbed my back for a bit and then we watched the series finale of Angel. It was a good night.

I have been having a hard time focusing at work today. I actually got more done yesterday than I am today. *sigh*

I had lunch with another pg woman from work today. It is so nice to get together with her. I asked her to e-mail me so that we could exchange more information on each other and possibly get together more often. I feel like I am starved for a friend and she is really nice.

Last week Christopher and I toured another daycare. This one is between home and work. It was a little strange. The building itself was not beautiful but it was clean, the people were not the best dressed/looking but they were really nice and caring and friendly. The price is $35 a week cheaper than anyplace else we have looked. If things don't work out with Elizabeth doing home care, then we might use this place until Hand-in-Hand has an opening. I should call them today to tell them that we are still interested. I guess we will be really broke for a bit but it will be so nice to have Elias really close by. The funniest thing about the daycare we visited last week was that one of the teachers was telling one of the boys to get off of something and his name - Elias. We hear it every where now!

Over the weekend I scrapbooked a bit and finished some crocheting projects (I can't say what they were yet). I called my Uncle and told him that I will be stopping over in Dallas on Friday. I hope that I get to see him. Christopher worked on the retaining wall in the backyard and he moved all of the stuff sitting around the house into the garage. The house really looks alot better. Except the carpet, that is. The carpet is a disaster and we almost started pulling it out to the bare concrete because it is so nasty and the dogs just keep puking on it. This weekend Bailey and Noodle were the pukers. Bleh! I can't wait for the tile.

Well, it's another week at work. I wish I was just in bed, sleeping. Hope everyone has a good week.

I am still tired, it just doesn't seem to go away. I took it really easy last night. I finished a book and then watched a little bit of tv. Christopher and I laid on the bed and talked for a bit before I took a shower and went to bed. I didn't even get up once last night but I am still really tired.

It's going to be another slow, sleepy day at work. No one ever talks to me. I'm stuck in this office all by myself with not even a window. It is so hard to be productive when you feel tired and alone. I actually get more work done on days I work at home and can move around in my house and even take a nap. *yawn*
