A few nights ago I had what I thought at the time might have been heartburn. I did not take TUMS for it because I had this kind of pain before and TUMS did not help. The pain was right between my breasts and the base of my ribcage but a little to the right. It lasted several hours and was fairly constant. If I breathed really deeply it did not help and even seemed to make it hurt a little more. I did not know what to do so I just laid down but could not fall asleep.

After talking to some other pg women, I called the doctor's office yesterday. The consensus seems to be that I had a gall bladder attack and might have gall stones. If it happens again I am supposed to call the doctor. Not that they can do anything for me until after Elias is born. I am also supposed to get lots of rest and drink plenty of fluids. Another symptom of a gall bladder attack is a pain between the shoulders in the back. I have had this for several days but had attributed it to normal pregnancy pain. Anyway, I will be talking to the doctor at my next appointment on June 2. This time I will not leave until I have been seen

I leave for MO tomorrow! I can't wait. This morning I laid out some of the clothes I want to take with me. I have to laundry when I get home because of course I don't have enough undies

Last night we watched The Last Samarai. I actually liked it. I had a hard time getting comfortable while we were watching it though because I seem to have pulled something in my left side. I would get this cramp like sensation in my ribs and have to move positions. It made finding a good position to sleep in last night tough too. It may be sad, but I can't wait to have a whole bed to myself at my parents. I just need more room to sleep now and turning over is hard work. Seriously, pregnancy is some big fat joke!

Before bed I was dancing naked in front of the mirror, it was really funny!

    Default day care

FYI - there is a childcare referral service that is run by the state. You can call them.... I'm not sure what the number is anymore, but they can give you a list of all the people in your zip code, including a lot of in-home daycares. I prefere the home setting and that's what I'm looking into for Miles for some part time baby sitting. Anyway, you'll be surprised at what's out there. I found a lady who charges only $3.00/hr for part time and like $100/week for full time. To be on the referral system, they have to meet certain specifications, but not as rigorous as the bigger day care businesses. Anyway, just an FYI.

P.S. Onesies still on the way. All I need to do is get my lazy *** down there to the P.O!

    Thanks Jenny,
I did their referral service on the internet and there were only 2 people in our area. I'm not saying that either is a bad choice, but I would have to contact them to find out if they have space available. The place we looked at last week really did not seem bad and I think we will go with it if I can't talk them into letting me have him here until the place we really want opens up. Good luck finding something you like for Miles!

So, it's been awhile since an update here.

I went to Missouri over the Memorial Day weekend. My SIL and Mom threw me a baby shower while I was there. My cousin Claudia and some women from church came. I was so happy to see everyone. My dad and brother stuck around for the shower and let me tell you - they were thrilled to be there! Highlights from the shower include Denise finishing the word scramble in about 30 seconds!!!!, getting 2 really nice diaper bags, 3 diaper covers, and tons of clothes and blankets. Elias won't be naked anymore!!! (I was actually having anxiety attacks over this!!)

After the shower the family all went out to dinner and then to Joann's. I love going to that store because ours is so far away. Anyway, I got material to make some jammies for after Elias is born. It's really cute, the print has loungerie on it! I thought that would be funny for a flannel sleep shirt with buttons down the front for easy access. haha

Sunday I went to church with Mom and then we went to change their cell phone plan so that Mom and I can call each other for free! (Just so you know, I have Verizon and if you have my number and have Verizon, you can call me for free too!) As we were leaving we walked by the Motherhood Maternity Store and my Dad steered me in there and told me to get whatever I needed - he would tell me when to stop. He never stopped me and I desperately needed some new clothes. It seems that all of mine have quit fitting!!! I got 2 new dresses, 2 pairs of shorts, and 3 tops. I am so much more comfortable now. I think Dad was willing to get more, but I was not willing to have him spend more for only 7 weeks of pregnancy left!

Sunday night I went to Angela's wedding. She looked so pretty! I even danced with her despite the notion that preggers look silly dancing.

Monday I woke up with a horrible cold. At first I thought it might be allergies but it just kept getting worse. I went to Rick and Anita's to help paint Madison's room but I could not finish because I was feeling so awful. The plane ride back sucked! I did not get home until 11pm and not into bed until close to midnight.

Tuesday I woke up with a high fever. I reached 101.6 before it started going down. What a miserable day. I had to miss work and everything. Christopher stayed home with me and Elias was wiggily all day so I did not worry to much about him.

Wednesday I had another appointment. I actually got to see the doctor this time. I do not have to use stirrups during deliver, she does not do episiotomies, we can donate the cord blood to the hospital for doctors to practice withdrawing blood from them. Those are some of the answers I got to questions I had from months ago. She also checked to make sure I was recovering well from my cold and it's all good! I stayed home the rest of the day just to make sure.

Today I am back at work. Don't wanna be!

Elias has become quite the entertainer with his belly dances. Sometimes it is a little painful. It really interested my brother but his pregger wife was a little freaked out by it.

I better go now. Hope you made it through that long update!

We got the Onsies from the Phoenix baby shower in the mail yesterday! It was fun to show them all to Christopher and remember the person who made them. Jennie also sent a little sweater and a wool diaper cover that are both really cute. Thanks Jennie!!

Another weekend passed which just brings us closer to Elias' arrival.

Saturday I went and played at the pool with another Tucson Mommy named Sandi. I met her on a e-mail list. She's 28 and expecting her first baby in November. We had a great time and it was wonderful to swim in the pool for hours.

Sunday I could not help be sleep. I was so tired. I got up, ate breakfast and then went back to bed! After I finally got out of bed I worked on the scrapbooks all day. I finally finished the honeymoon scrapbook. We went to evening Mass and it was really pretty because the sun had not set yet. It made the stained glass windows look beautiful.

Last night Christopher and I made breakfast feast for dinner! We had omelets, pancakes, and hashbrowns. It was so yummy. I talked to Suzy for an hour after dinner. We set up going up to Mt. Lemmon on Saturday to take photos of me in my big bellied state. It was good to talk to Suzy, we haven't had the chance to talk in quite awhile. She and her hubby are trying to buy a house and they finally found one that their bid was accepted on.

Christopher and I went to bed before 10pm but then at 3 am, for the second night in a row, he woke me up. This time, I laid there until 4 am and then just decided to get up. I curled my hair, got dressed, took the dogs out, made my lunch, ate breakfast and then watched 45 minutes of tv before the alarm went off at 5:30 am. Christopher has this new habit of just laying in bed for up to 30 minutes after the alarm goes off. I wanted him to get out of bed. He eventually did and then took a really long shower and told me to just go to work without him. So, fine, I did. I arrived at work at 6:20 and my phone was ringing. He had forgotten that he had to come in! HA! He was on his way to campus but going home after he took care of some business.

Last night we watched some more of the video of the birth class. There's only a little bit more to it. I think that I will watch it again and take notes the next time. They give some good advice that I don't want to forget.

I've been trying to think of a good place for my friend Suzy to take photos of me up on Mt. Lemmon. All of the really good places I know require a hike uphill. Uhm, no thank you! After we take the pics I'll be sure to post them here

Last night, even though Christopher thought I was nuts, I did an inventory of the things we have for Elias. I just wanted to make sure we had enough stuff. Here's the list I compiled (thanks soooo much to everyone who contributed to it!!!):
    11 Blankets
    1 Hooded Towel
    12 Bibs
    5 Shirts 0-3 months
    31 Onesies 0-3 months, 14 Onesies 3-6 months, 6 Onesies 6-9 months, 2 Onesies 9-12 months
    4 pants/shorts 0-3 months, 1 for 3-6 months
    5 hats
    17 pairs of socks
    9 burp cloths
    21 washcloths
    2 sleepers 0-3 months and 2 for 3-6 months
    2 overalls for 3-6 months
    4 sets of sheets
    2 sets of mittens
    1 sweater - small
19 cloth diapers from my infancy
    2 small AIO diapers
    4 medium AIO diapers
    2 really large AIO diapers
    1 newborn diaper cover
    2 small diaper covers
    1 wool diaper cover

So, from this list it seems to me that I still need more diaper covers, sleepers, and maybe towels. We also should get a soaker for Elias to sleep on so that he does not wet his sheets. (Dang those sheets are hard to get into the crib!!) I did some research yesterday and I might be able to get diaper covers from the diaper service here in town for discount prices on used ones. Either this weekend or next I want to try to check that out.

Other things we still need to pick up for Elias are a bathroom related: soap, lotion, creams, snot sucker, thermometer, baby tylenol and probably more

For me we need to get things for after Elias is born: pads, nursing pads, geez there's more but I need to watch the birth class video again and read about it again in some of my books.

So, that's the update for today. I can't wait to get back in to Elias' room to put all of his stuff away and to wash the latest batch of clothes from Missouri. Christopher currently has a bunch of furniture in Elias' room while he puts down the tile. *sigh* I suppose I can wait for the tile to be done
