Today I sent out a message to those who I will be contacting by e-mail when Elias is born. I should have included a link here but I forgot. It seems that so many things are necessary to get ready for Elias.
I may have forgotten to mention that the woman we were talking to about home care for Elias has decided not to do it. I understand her reasons and now we are left really trying to decide what to do. Do we go with daycare or try to find someone else who we have not met to watch Elias in their home?
I have been getting less and less sleep at night. Between weird dreams and having to pee, I'm not sure I sleep at all. It is still disturbing that I always wake up on my back too. I snore so loud it usually wakes Christopher up. This morning he was really sweet though and we cuddled for quite awhile before getting up.
Over the weekend I went with Suzy and Sandi up Mt. Lemmon to take some photos of my pregger belly. http://community.webshots.com/album/152675237TqWGIk
Suzy has a degree in photography and took the pictures. These were taken with my digital camera, Sandi also has some taken with hers (not posted as of today), and Suzy also took film. Some of them will be enlarged for me to keep. I think they turned out really well. I had a great time on the trip both because of the company and because the weather was so much cooler than down at the house.
Don't forget to play the ExpectNet game at http://www.expectnet.com/game.php, the game name is littlechicken. Several people have already guessed - and Anita! you're going to get it. Make predictions like that an you are only jinxing yourself! haha
Some friends stopped by on Sunday to drop off their swing. It is the only large item we didn't have that we wanted. It's on loan until Elias gets sick of it. Thanks P and J!
Other than that, feeling pretty tired. Plan on doing some yoga when I get home and some work. Things are really busy at work right now aaaah, no rest for the wicked!
Today my cousin's baby was born. They named her Brianna. I have not gotten all of the details because I am still at work but if I get more I will note them here.
Last night after work Christopher and I did the yoga tape. It is getting harder and harder for me to do much of the stuff on there. My legs and feet are swelling a bit.
Christopher has now taken over the cooking. I had work to do last night but mostly I get really tired standing in the kitchen to do the cooking. He actually seems to be looking forward to doing it and I mentioned that we could find specials on fast food for nights when he just doesn't feel like it
This week has been rough. I had an appointment yesterday and talked to the np about the swelling in my hands and feet and legs. I am to lay down for at least 30 minutes as soon as I get home. I am not getting enough rest during the day and the swelling just builds up. I am also not supposed to eat any more salty foods. To help my hip problems I am supposed to take a bath before bed. Well, I did all of those things as recommended last night and I still could not get to sleep until 1 am and I woke up several times and Christopher actually rolled me over once and it hurt my hip soooo bad. I almost started crying.
This weekend I am going to rest and get as much sleep as possible so that I will be ready to go for next week!
Here's something that I left out. Christopher and I went to BRU last Wednesday night after we figured out that our refrigerator was not broken. We spent several hours contemplating which stroller to get and in the end decided not to get one. Ok, so this decision was more Christopher's than mine and Christopher says he will carry Elias around. We did get a sling and a Snuggli so we have something to help carry Elias. And, we can always go back and get one if we decide to later. We did end up getting everything we needed but did not have yet for Elias. I'm so relieved.
Over the weekend we finally got all of the stuff moved out of Elias' room and I put all of his baby things away. I finished washing everything. I love his little room.
I have been going to the bathroom alot more today than over the past few days. I am wondering if it is because some of my swelling is going down. I actually don't feel like I have sausage fingers. They were really stiff and sore when I woke up this morning but that has worked itself out.
Things are still really busy at work. I don't see an end in sight except maternity leave and that will be a different kind of busy. I don't know which I wish on myself except that after maternity leave, my belly won't be in my way when I walk through a door.
Last night I packed my hospital bag. It is sitting in Elias' room which is on the way out the door. I just need to put in my wallet and cell phone on the way out. I am working on Christopher to get him to pack a bag too. He is allowed to be in the shower with me during labor but he has to have on a swim suit The nurses said they get paid to see me naked but not him! :lol
I am being such a little piggy the last two days. I wanted cookies so I made a bunch and have been bringing them in for the teachers but I end up eating most of them. They are just so good and tempting! I just don't want to end up weighing as much as Christopher. I am only 7 pounds away from that. I suppose I still look pretty good but that won't last with all of these cookes!!
Well, it seems that everything I eat now is going to end up on my shirt. Today I spilled my eggs during breakfast, part of my peach during a snack, and ketchup during lunch. arg! I look like I have painted my shirt with food!
What a busy weekend! Saturday I painted the doors to Elias's room, vacuumed, dusted, did 3 loads of laundry and hung them on the line, and went shopping for hours with Christopher. I was pooped! I went to bed at 9 pm after watching the series finale of Buffy and a random episode of Angel.
Sunday I had to finish the doors to Elias' room. Christopher hung them and the letter S that I had painted on Saturday. That just about finished his room. I do still need to get a diaper pail. I also sewed myself a new shirt, but I messed it up so I spent more time ripping out all of the seams than I did actually sewing the shirt.
Wonderoos is having a buy 2 get 1 free sale so on Friday I bought 18 all-in-one diapers. They are completely adjustable so that should be all of the diapers that we are going to need for Elias. I am so excited. They come in cool colors too. Here's the link to the site that contains info on the diapers. http://www.clothdiapersnmore.com/cat...84b54ef0b7e4c3 I was not going to buy all in one diapers but, a brand new diaper cover costs the same as one of the all in one diapers does. And you have to keep getting larger sizes of covers. So, there you go. I plan to cut up the old diapers that Mom used on me as a child and use them as inserts for these diapers. I'm excited anyway.
Also on Friday I paid a woman in Phoenix using PayPal for a breastpump. I am excited to get that too. I have been thinking that I will pump some milk even while I am at home with Elias. First of all, that will help me to see that it is working for me and secondly so that Christopher can feed him out of a bottle. Elias needs to get some practice at that too so that when he goes to daycare it won't be such a shock!
Last night when we got home there was a check from the insurance company waiting in the mail. I called and asked what was up. We had paid our insurance bill but it also comes out of our mortgage payment so we had double paid. It was so nice to get money back! Now we have the money to pay our car insurance. We went to Sonic for slushies to celebrate!
After getting home from Sonic I noticed that my right ankle was nonexistent. I sat in the chair for a bit hoping it would come back but ultimately ended up laying down in bed. It was better this morning but has started swelling again today. Earlier my hands had been really swollen too but that went away after I had a Coke. That was an interesting observation that I plan to talk to the doctor about on Thursday.
On Friday I also have an appointment with my PCP who might also be Elias' doctor.
Last night we finished Elias' room. Christopher decided that he needed some orange paint so we bought that at Home Depot and then we hung his quilt on the wall. Elias has the cutest room ever. I will try to take pictures soon and post them so everyone can see
