Well, Christopher is off for his cousin's wedding. He left really early this morning (try 3am!!! ). I tried to sleep in but Noodle kept crying and then Christopher called me at 5:20 am. I was glad to hear he made it to Phoenix ok, but I wanted to sleep!
This morning I figured out that the cloth diapers my mom had for me as a baby fit inside of the Wonderoos and make them into a really nice diaper. Now I just have to figure out what kind of soap to wash the Wonderoos in....hmmm....
Last night Christopher finished all of the tile and then we put all of the furniture back in its place. We didn't get to bed until after 11pm. I'm beat but the house is looking great.
Appointments are pretty boring. They listen to the heart and now stick fingers inside of me to check my cervix. It doesn't bother me but I don't see the point in it.
The 4th weekend was pretty good. Mary put a wrap on my foot that made it feel so much better. It has been swelling up pretty good for the last couple of weeks. She left stuff for Christopher to wrap it for me. I have a wrap on right now. It is neat to take it off and see my ankle again!
I saw the fireworks in Marana. There were lots of families and fun things to do. I went with Mary, Sandi and her husband Thom, their daughter Marina and some of their neices.
Sunday Christopher came home from his cousin Eric's wedding. I missed him and was happy to see him. He pretty much went to bed and slept or 12 hours.
On Monday we did things around the house. I finished the shirt I had sewn and then discovered too many mistakes and had to sew again. I also scrapbooked 4 pages in my 2003 album. It was strange to see myself so skinny! I hope that I can get back in shape after Elias is born.
Yesterday our new group of teachers started up. It was hectic but we made it through.
People have started calling to ensure that I am "OK". I'm tired so I don't talk much. I suppose it is nice and I should be more grateful.
I guess since it has been some time I should report my stats:
180ish pounds and 44 inch waist at almost 38 weeks.
I have been feeling some cramps in my lower tummy and even my back. They come and go throughout the day. Nothing too painful or that I could time.
I asked my mom last night what labor with me was like. She had the crampy feeling in the morning. My dad went to work and sent my grandma (his mom) over to be with me. At 2pm my dad came home from work and they went to the hospital. I was born at around 9pm. She doesn't recall the labor being that painful except at the end right before I was born.
We have been having some Rachel and Christopher time as the time for Elias' arrival draws near. Friday we went to see Spiderman2 and out to dinner. Last night we had friends over for a bbq and to play games. It has been fun!
I had an appointment today and it looks like you will be born sometime tomorrow. 7/14 that's a good day to be born! My blood pressure was too high and the doctor is worried. I'm excited to meet you but nervous about being induced. I guess I just thought I would have lots of time during labor to get used to the idea that you were coming out.
Last night was a little rough. We only got 2 hours of sleep before 5am and then almost 2 hours more before 7 am. There was no way we could calm you down. You were just awake until 1:30 but work up every hour after that and had to eat. After eating you were really fussy and didn't even like your swing. You are sleeping now. I should be sleeping too but there's something about sleeping in the morning after the sun is up that is hard for me to go back to sleep. You are sleeping like a little angel. Noodle puked on the carpet and Grandpa bought a little Bissel carpet cleaner to clean it up. The carpet cleaner is noisy but you don't even flinch. You really are a good sleeper when we can get you to sleep!
I discovered yesterday that the days are kind of melting together so I am going to try to get on here everyday to make sure that I remember this time when you are so tiny.
Last night we went across the street to visit Bob and Kathy, it was your first visiting trip. Yesterday we also took pictures of you in your Dr. Constantino t-shirt, but then you puked all over it. You puked while I was holding you at the dinner table. Everyone thought you had sneezed but I had puke running all over me!
Today we are supposed to go on your first trip up Mt. Lemmon after Daddy gets home from work. He had to go to some meetings. I'll come here tomorrow to write about it. Now, maybe I can get a nap!
We did not end up going up Mt. Lemmon as planned because a Monsoon storm came in. Instead we went shopping on Grant for a chiminea for Grandma and Grandpa. We found one they liked at Pepe's Mexican Imports and they got it to bring home. Grandpa also negotiated a great price for a pot for my hens and chickens. You were a really good boy most of the trip. Then you woke up and got hungry. We were going to get dinner at Chipotle but you wanted dinner first so Daddy and Grandpa went in and got dinner while I sat in the car and tried to feed you. It was more than a little cramped in the backseat but we got a few minutes of boobie in!
I went to bed early last night to get some rest from the night before while Grandma and Grandpa watched you. I got in over 2 hours! It was wonderful. Then I fed you again and you puked twice. I've never seen so much fluid! We had to give you a second bath for the day - actually, I took you in the shower with me. Daddy cleaned up your little bed and then we put you back in there when you fell asleep. I did a little research and decided that maybe I should not eat so much ice cream because dairy can really cause problems. You were fine when I fed you at 2 and at 4:30 but I started some other new things too.
Now after you eat (no more than 10 minutes of boobie eating) I prop you up for 15 minutes and then change your diaper and either cuddle you or prop you up and talk to you until you fall asleep. No pukies that way. It worke ok until I fed you at around 10 am this morning. I think I fed you too close to the last time and you puked a little bit. Daddy and I have also gotten smarter and have started putting a towel on the couch and you are only in covered areas. We still need to clean the carpet from last night.
In a couple of hours your Open House will start. We have invited people to come visit you from 1-3 today and tomorrow. I'll get on here and let you know who came to visit you. They are all going to think you are so adorable!!!
We had tons of people come visit for the open house last weekend. You got more presents, clothes that you will be able to wear in a couple of months. Sunday before everyone came over Mommy got some nursing clothes. It makes it easier to go out. Monday we went up Mt. Lemmon for the day. Rachel got really tired. Tuesday Mommy and Grandma took Elias to the scrapbook store to meet some of the women that Mommy talks to on the internet. Mommy signed up for a class next week. Everyone will be gone and it will be good to get out of the house. Wednesday everyone went to campus to meet people and to sign up for health insurance. Thursday Mommy got a stroller!!! She was so excited because she has been getting really sore from carrying Elias around. Elias also made his first trip to Home Depot. Today we're going to the bookstore. It's Grandma and Grandpa's last day here.
Grandma just called and said she got back to Missouri safely. W have missed her already. Mommy cried for quite awhile after they left. Then we went to the scrapbook store and made a card.
Today we made it to church.
Elias is now wearing his cloth diapers and weighs 10 pounds!
