It is so amazing to me how time flies! In just a few days you will be 6 months old! Wow! A whole half a year!
You have recently started sitting up. Though you don't do it quite on your own yet. I help you to get to that position. And you're still a bit wobbly when you are actually up! I won't say that you've got it down yet, but you surely are working on it!
Daddy thinks taht his orders are set for Hawaii now! Looks like we'll be moving there at the end of this year! How about a Luau for your first birthday?
I hope that we'll get to swing through Texas before we head south! I would like for you to meet your great grandparents! They are all getting on in age and I'm afraid that they won't be around much longer.
Not a lot of adventure planned for today! Mom's car is still in the shop!
I am going to wrap this up now dear!
I love you with half of my heart (Daddy gets the other half! )
I wish I could keep up with this on a daily basis sweetheart! I seem to get sidetracked or too busy playing with you to sit down and write though!
Daddy's patch on his flight suit has become your favorite new toy! You try so hard to take it off and stick it right in your mouth! I wonder if the velcro feels good on your gums?
You are still trying to crawl, but have not quite yet mastered the art of it! Reverse works really well, but you get so frustrated seeing your toys get further and further away from you!
We're still working on our signs! I think that you understand milk as well as eat, but you still have not signed back. I can't wait for the day that you do! You seem a little confused at the Mommy and Daddy signs. I do not know if it is because they are so similar or if I am not using them at an appropriate time for you to understand.....we'll keep working on them!
We are definitely heading to Hawaii dear! It looks like you will spend the next few years of your life in paradise!! How exciting it is going to be! You & I can be beach bums when daddy deploys!
Walking before crawling. Everyone says you're supposed to do it the other way around, but it appears that you aren't listening to them! It's a completely assisted walk, but it appears that you like it better than the crawl.
On Friday, August 15, you pulled up to stand and then much to my suprise, took me on a tour of the living room. We stopped at your rocking plane where you played with the propeller for quite some time. Now it seems every time I sit on the floor next to you, you're ready to get up and go!
In other new, you started eating graham crackers on the 12th of August, and absolutely love them! Maybe you love that you can feed them to yourself. You seem to be a very independent being. Easy to entertain and just as satisfied to play with your toys or talk to the fan!
Almost a month has passed since I last wrote in your journal baby girl.
No new milestones have been reached, but you are still changing in so many different ways.
Right at this moment you are sitting in my lap typing on your own keyboard. I supposed you like the sound the keys make as you pound on them. I tease that you are emailing all of your friends.
You have become quite a bit more difficult to entertain. You also get quite frustrated at the fact that you can not move in any direction except backwards. You have quit rolling over, and have instead chosen to lay where you are and whine for us to pick you up.
We all hope this phase passes soon and have been on the floor crawling near you so that you can see how we do it. All in hopes that you will learn from example!
You have tired of your keybaord now so I must go to keep you busy.
September 18, 2003 You pulled yourself up to standing for the very first time!!!! (alone)
Crawling doesn't seem too far away either! You've figured out how to get your knee forward, its just down to coordinating your arms to get you moving!
We're getting closer and closer to our move date! I can't wait to get to Hawaii! I hope that it will be a time that you remember well!
Not much new has been going on around here little one. Daddy is finally into the last phase of his school. He is going to refocus his attention on bringing up his grade, so we may not see a lot of him for the next two months, but we will have our Friday nights out, so we will all reconnect then!
You & I have begun having giggle seesions in the morning when we wake up. It has been a lot of fun watching your personality develop!
Last night at dinner we had probably 5 different people walk up to us to tell us what a beautiful little girl we had and what a great job we did. It makes me so proud to know that people think you are beautiful, but they have also commented on how well behaved and attentive you are. That makes my heart swell even more. You are something special and I can not wait to see what the future brings for you!
