I just wanted to wish you all the very merriest Christmas ever with your baby boy!!!!!
Thanks, you guys!! :D Merry Christmas to you, too!! :D
Nick's first Christmas was GREAT!! :D He got to celebrate it with his Grandma and Grandpa, and we also have a funny story to tell about it now! His grandparents were supposed to be here on the 23rd, but because of all the weather issues in Chicago, they didn't get here until the afternoon on Christmas DAY. Talk about being exhausted after 2 days of traveling! We decided to do presents that night, but then nixed that idea because they still had some last minute shopping to do, and were pretty much exhausted from their travels. So the next day, they go get their stuff, and we decide to do Christmas a day late. Well, right when we decided to do Christmas, Nick decides to take a nap. So we wait, and wait, and wait... the boy sleeps through his first "Christmas"! So we postponed it a day, and finally celebrated "Christmas" on the 27th. It was totally worth it, though, because we had so much fun taking pictures and videos of him!! I know we'll always treasure these. :D Here are a few good ones:
XMas onesie that couldn't have been more perfect:

What sweet pics! Sorry about Grandma's and Grandpa's troubles at the airport... so cool that you decided to postpone just for them! Glad you had a cozy Christmas!
oh my gosh he's gotten so big and he's absolutely gorgeous!! (just like his mommy)
What a hilarious christmas story honey. Merry belated Christmas
Lisa, I know! That's what we said and his Grandpa was so happy. He said, "I really like Lisa!" I told him this was the second Packers gift from you!
Asha, Gabby is soooo big! OMG!! She is just gorgeous! :D Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas!
Nadine, hi!! I can't believe your little one will be here so soon!! Where has the time gone??
So I have officially made the leap into the world of cloth diapering. :D I just ordered a 6-pack of bumGenius! diapers. They are one-size, so hopefully he'll be able to use them for a long, long time. I figure we'll try it and if we like it, we'll order more. We still have a huge pack of sposies that his grandparents bought us, so we'll slowly be transitioning over. That way it's easier on our bank account too, since we won't have to drop $300 all at once. I'm really excited to try these! :D It's something I'd been researching for a while, but before I had him, I wasn't sure how badly his poops would gross me out. So far they don't gross me out at all, and they do stink since he's formula fed. Tim said he wouldn't be able to do the whole spray the poop into the toilet thing, so I told him I'd do it. I just don't want that to be the only reason we won't do cloth. It's so cute, he keeps apologizing but I really don't mind. :) I think Tim has been scarred ever since one night when he changed Nick's diaper and Nick sprayed explosive poop all over Tim's face and chest! I don't blame him. ;) Anyway, I wanted to try CDing because it's so much better for the environment, and also so that his baby skin doesn't have to be exposed to all those chemicals/plastics in such a sensitive area. BUT if I really hate it, we'll just go back to sposies and I'll sell these to someone who would like them. :) I'm so excited for them to get here! They should be here a week from Wednesday at the latest. :)
I completely forgot to say yesterday that Nick has been sleeping through the night for the past 3 days now! :D He's been completely skipping his 3 AM feeding. He eats at about 10:30 PM, goes down and stays asleep till about 6 AM! It's soooo nice. :D I had read that he would start doing that since he's now over 10 lbs, and I'm so happy to report that he is! :D I hope the trend continues. He's just such an amazing baby. Today we were laying with him on the bed between us, and he was just talking away, smiling and kicking his legs at us. :D He also reached out and grabbed Tim's ear! It was adorable. I LOVE mommyhood - it's so much more than I had imagined!! I am so thankful for my baby everyday.
I've been meaning to do this for a little while now, but here goes. These are a few of my most favorite things about my Nicky boy:
1. The way he smiles and coos for me like he does for no one else. You can tell I'm his favorite person! I didn't really understand what people meant when they talked about that special bond between a mother and her baby, but I really do now.
2. The way he loves to lay on his changing pad every morning and interact with me. That has got to be my favorite time of the day! :D
3. The way he makes an "Aah" sound over and over again when he wants me and can't see me. He did it when Grandma was holding him and he wanted Mommy! It was soooo sweet. :D He also does it when I leave the room!
4. The way car rides just knock him out!
5. How sweet and gentle he is. He doesn't get irritated or grumpy very easily at all!
6. How he pokes his lip out and scrunches his nose up when he's mad and wants you to stop whatever you're doing! Sometimes I'll be changing his diaper, and I'll look up and he'll be laying there making this face quietly to himself.
7. His fuzzy head, especially the back of it. It's soooo soft and smells sooo good!
8. The way he grunts and groans when you lay him on his tummy because he's trying so hard to hold his head up! He also does this if you hold him upright against your chest as he strains to lift up his head and look at you. :D
9. The "swimming" motion he does with his arms when he gets agitated!
10. The way he attacks his bottle when he's hungry and coos while he eats because he's so happy his tummy's getting full! :D
ok, the explosive poop thing made me laugh hysterically, my apologies to Tim. lol!
if you do go back to disposables, Target has a more natural, biodegradable type that we like. Just an option. :) good luck to you with it!
gosh, he's so stinkin' cute, I wish we lived closer together so we could get our boys together. :)
Yeah for STTN!!!!!!
Can I get some new pictures?????
