Our trip is SO much fun! We are really having a blast, driving for about 7 hours a day. Nick sleeps the whole time which is so nice. :D He starts getting fussy around his bedtime, which is to be expected. We just put him down in his car seat once we get to the hotel, and he goes right down. Oh, and he's eating 8 oz at at time now! He is such a big boy. :D
We are currently in AZ, and Tim had to fly out to the East Coast until Saturday to talk to his company about some job-related stuff. When he comes back we'll continue on our drive. :D Is it weird that I miss him?! We've spent 24/7 together this past month, and he told me on the phone last night that he misses us and hated going to bed alone! We are such saps. You'd think it was a deployment or something, not a 3-day business trip he was on!
I don't know when I'll get back on, but until then - adios! :D
Some cute Nickisms: :D
- Making kissy noises at us by pursing his lips together and smacking them! He especially does this when he's hungry (his own version of sign language?), but also just to "talk" or play with us. :D
- Saying "Ma" when he's sad or upset about something. Sooo sweet, and melts my heart! :D
- Loves it when I lay him on the bed, and then bounce on it so he bounces, too. He laughs uproariously!
- When we kiss him, he LICKS us! You can't go anywhere near his mouth now without getting licked.
- He does this adorable thing where he holds my finger like he's just looking at it. He has this totally innocent look on his face like, "I'm just a-lookin' at this finger, nothin' more..." Then he'll give me a sideways sneaky look and jam my finger into his mouth to give it a good, hard bite with his gums of steel! It's soooo funny and it totally cracks me up everytime!
Sandy??? Where art thou??? Please come to the surface for air when you can---I'm beginning to get worried!
She posted on October 07 a few days ago, so I know she made it safely. :) They're still house-hunting and staying with the in-laws, so hopefully we'll hear more soon!
Oh, I thought it was just me being worried!!
Then I figured, she just trekked across the country in first trimester...she might be too tired to post?
Waiting impatiently for an update!!!
Hey ladies!! :D :D I am so sorry I have been SUCH a slacker about posting! Life has been crazy here, and in the midst of it all, Nick has been growing up somehow! :D
Nick is now 6 months old, and he is growing like a bear! He is sitting up unassisted, eating solids (he's done rice cereal, sweet potatoes and bananas so far) and saying "Mama" and "Dadada"! He also FINALLY rolled over from tummy to back a few days before his 6-month "birthday"! He now practices rolling onto his side from his back and has gotten really good at it! No scooting or crawling yet, but I know it's coming!! :D He is enjoying being totally spoiled by his grandparents, and his absolute favorite person of all time (well, besides mom and dad of course! :D ) is Grandpa! He loves him sooo much, Nick's face just lights up and he starts laughing and smiling everytime he sees him! And of course, Grandpa is just soaking it all up!
As for me and New Baby, we just bounded into Trimester Two yesterday!!!! Don't ask me how that happened! I am feeling great, but my waves of nausea have gotten worse in the latter part of the first, and in the second trimester, which is really unfair! ;) With Nick it went away completely at 11 weeks! I am also much more dizzy this time around, so I've been taking my iron supplements faithfully to stave off the anemia. I haven't gained any weight yet (in fact, I lost 2 lbs!) due to a barely-there apetite. I haven't been eating any meat at all, just vegetarian dishes (and a weird craving for sausage keeps me eating that too), so I try really hard to make up my protein intake in other ways. I started feeling little pokes in week 13, just like with Nick!! :D It's so exciting! We are not finding out the sex this time, and it's neat to have both experiences! :D Everyone assumes I want a girl this time (how annoying!) so I am constantly telling people I'd be just as happy with another little boy! In fact, I think it would be really cool for Nick to have a little brother so close in age. :D :D
Well, that about sums it up! My internet time will probably be a little sketchy in the coming weeks since we're still staying with the in-laws and trying to find a place of our own, so please don't worry! :D
:bigarmhug: Hope all of you are doing well!!!! Elicia, I'm off to catch up on your journal!!
It's so great to read an update from you Sandy! I'm so glad everything is going well - I can't believe that your little Nick is already 6 months old and that your in your 2nd trimester!!! How in the world did that happen lol
Sorry the m/s isn't going away, that's frustrating but yay for feeling the wee little one move around - how sweet!!
Wow, where have the last 6 months gone? It seems like yesterday I was reading Nick's birth story.
I'm so glad that everything is going well and totally understand if you can't pop on to update as much for a little while. It's great to know that all is well and I look forward to seeing some pics of Nick and the new place!
Glad that all is well Sandy!! Good luck house hunting, hope you find your dream home.
I totally understand the frustration with MS - how could it drag on so long??
Much love to Nick, Tim, New baby and especially you Momma!
