Sandy, you've got all kinds of exciting stuff going on. How great for you! I'm so happy that your LLL leader was able to come by today and that you got that volunteer job. That sounds so rewarding. You'll have to keep us posted on how it goes.

Tonight was a night of many emotions! I tried the SNS on Nick and it did not work! I don't know how, but the tube jabbed him in the gums and he got really mad. He wasn't all that interested in my boob either, although I did get him to "try" it. So I was feeling a little discouraged and wondering why he didn't want to latch tonight, when I felt a familiar tingling... yep, you guessed it, my breasts are producing MILK!!! I don't know how it happened so soon, but wow! It was only a few drops out of my left breast, and it was clear and thin, but holy progress, Batman! Needless to say, I was super-excited. I pumped immediately, and got a small amount out of my left boob and none out of the right (I know it's coming though, because I felt the tingling in my right after I pumped). I'm going to order the Medela PIS soon and I'm also going to get some Fenugreek so we can really get this show on the road. I'm also going to try to keep latching Nick on and see how he does with that. If he doesn't ever latch, I think I'll bottle feed him breastmilk (as much as my body can produce, I don't think it'll ever be 100% of his needs) and do skin-to-skin contact while feeding. And if he does latch, that will be even better! I am feeling pretty hopeful about this. I think it's all the good vibes everyone has been sending me. They're working! Thanks, ladies - you are so appreciated, wish I could express how much!

WAY TO GO, Momma!! Seriously, you're awesome

I'm so glad there's progress. It's possible that in time when Nick realizes there's actually milk coming from your breast he'll be more interested. ...I don't think I'd like something stabbing my gums either!

    Stay strong chica...you're doing great.

Just when I think you can't get any more awesome you go and decide to relactate yourself! I'm just so darn proud of you and your moxy. I wish you lived somewhere closer to me because I'd love to know someone as great as you IRL. I can't wait to read more about your relactation and nursing journey hon!

Oh Sandy hun!!! Your post put THE BIGGEST smile to my face! Your body is responding to nick soo beautifully, isn't it wonderful!! You never know, these bodies of ours can perfom some pretty amazing things - you just might be able to make enough milk for him after awhile. Never say never Either way though it sounds like your prepared for whatever your body will give you, & that's such an awsome attitude!! I wish I could give you a HUGE hug!!!

The volunteer position your taking up sounds like a lot of fun, what a great way to get out of the house so that you can interact with others - that'll help a lot

Oh! one more thing - have you thought of changing the type of bottles your using so that nick will ahve an easier time going between the breast & the bottle? I recently bought two bottles by First Years called Breastflow - they look really neat.

You guys are so great!! Thank you so much for coming on here to cheer me on! It makes such a difference in my day. When I feel exhausted or frustrated, I think of you guys and I feel like I can try it one more time. I know we've never met IRL but I seriously feel like I know you all!

Elicia, you're so sweet and your posts always make me laugh! You're a great writer, I think you should consider opening up a general journal - I know I would love to keep up with your life!

Chims, thanks so much for that recommendation! I'll have to look into those. Do you know if those are BPA free? I can't believe you've made it this far!!!! Eeee, only a few more days and Miss Isabelle will be here!

This weekend was so much fun!! On Saturday, Tim said he'd watch our little monkey, so my girlfriend and I got together and had a girls' day out! It was soooo nice to be able to go out and do things that I used to do before I got pregnant. I actually went shopping for myself!! There were awesome sales everywhere, so I got a LOT of clothes (really nice brand names too!) for a total of less than $100. It was really exciting! On our way back home, we hit a snow storm and that was so scary! Driving on the interstate with a white wall all around you so you can barely see anything is really not my idea of fun. Luckily we didn't get into a wreck or anything, but the drive that should have only taken us an hour took us two hours! We were going 30 mph on the interstate the whole time, and sometimes we'd drop down to 15. In the space of a half mile, we saw 4 cars that had gone off the road!

Anyway, after I got home I decided to step on the scale (gulp - or so I thought) and I found out to my extreme joy that I am now 1.5 lbs BELOW my pre-pregnancy weight!!!! I am so, so excited!! I still have 5 more vanity lbs to lose (my goal weight is 130), but I am not too worried about that. I've started lifting weights to get my arms toned because I think that will help me look and feel a lot slimmer too. I am almost ready for summer! Still no idea what to do about my pooch, but I'm guessing that will go away on its own.

I have been pumping and getting more stuff out of my left boob. My right one doesn't want to cooperate so far, but that's alright. It's only been a few days. I'm going to pick up some fenugreek and might ask my OB about a prescription for Domperidone at my appointment tomorrow. Today Tim is going to pick me up an Ameda Purely Yours at the Bx. Pumping, here I come!

Nick has laughed several times for us over the course of this weekend! It was sooo cool, and I teared up every single time like some kind of chump. He just thinks his Daddy's hilarious! It's so cute because the things Tim does make him laugh, but if Tim starts laughing, he'll get quiet and just watch him in wonder. BUT if he sees ME laughing, he cracks up! So we were just sitting there cracking each other up - it was too funny. He'd laugh at something Tim was doing, then I'd laugh because he was laughing, and then he'd laugh harder because I was laughing. It was a total riot!

Hmm, I wonder what mischief I could cause today?
