Lol!! I used to be a total snob! So I know how he feels! But, if it's something that's only going to be used here and there, why not?

Sandy, I'm so glad it went well at the sitters today. What a relief! Also, good for you for seeking some time for yourself and trying to find some balance and bring Nick out into the world.

OMG, he is soooooooooo cute!! I love those little jeans

Yay for a great sitter! It's wonderful that your sitter is TTC because I think she will be very in-tune with her mothering instinct while her mind and body prepare to nurture a baby. Nick will pick up on that and I bet they will do very well with each other. And when he is happy you can have guilt-free yoga or a few hours pampering yourself. Even just some alone time with DH!

Thanks, ladies! And yes, Elicia, that's exactly what I told Tim about them TTC! Makes me feel a lot better about the whole someone else watching my baby thing.

There are so many things that Nick doesn't do anymore that he used to do all the time. The sad thing is, because we live with him and see him everyday, we don't even realize that these precious pearls are gone until they've been gone a while! Here are some things that I miss:
    • He used to wave his arms in this jerky pattern when he was getting agitated and about to cry. We used to say he was "going swimming".
    • He used to try to sneeze and if it didn't come out right, he'd go, "Aaah." Like he was mad at the sneeze!
    • He would curl into the fetal position when you held him, with his legs drawn up to his chest. It was hard to get him to uncurl to get his clothes and diapers on!
But he's also doing so many new things all the time, that I'm also so happy that he's growing into this healthy, beautiful, bouncing baby boy. Here are some of his new doings:
    • Putting his fist in his mouth and sucking on it. He does this ALL day.
    • Using ALL of his sounds to try and tell us what he wants. For instance, if you try to put him down but he'd rather stay up and play, he'll say, "Mama, ga, pa, nggg, gggg, *screech*, mmmmm". LOL!
    • He hardly ever cries anymore, except when he's pretty hungry and you haven't gotten his bottle ready yet.
    • He loves music and a lot of times when I sing to him, he'll laugh and smile and then try to "sing" along!
He is just the sweetest little guy in the world! I love him so much, it's amazing.

Today I took him to WalMart by myself! Round of applause, please! It was great! I had to go in and get a prescription filled, and also pick up some pictures. He didn't nap before we went, so I was a little nervous but he did just wonderfully. I set his car seat in the big part of the buggy, and used it as a stroller. He just watched the world go by, and had little conversations with me and smiled the whole time. It felt good to get out! And I'm happy to report that Tim and I finally, finally have wallet pictures of Nick! I know, we're total slackers. Everyone keeps asking me if I have pictures on me when I'm out and about, and I always feel horrible saying that I don't. I must admit, it's so exciting to have baby pictures in my wallet - like I'm a bonafide mom now! Yes, I am a total dork.

I never thought before I had Nick that I'd get this excited about buying a stroller, but I am! I'm going to take him to Babies 'R' Us today, and we're going to pick up the travel system stroller that goes with his car seat. I can't wait to start taking him for walks outside regularly! This weekend it's supposed to be fairly warm, so Tim and I are going to take him to the park. Tomorrow we might get together with one of my friends, so I'm going to walk over there with him. Let's just hope that Babies 'R' Us still has them in stock when I get up there! I called yesterday and they said they had plenty left, so I'm not too worried. Eeee, I am so excited!! Now I can take him places and don't have to be confined to the house! He's getting too big and active to be carried. The Ergo is great, but he doesn't really like it for long periods of time; I think it's too hot for him in there.

Tim and I have been talking some about Nick being the only child. I never saw this coming, but I kinda feel like I don't want/need any more kids! I just love him soooo much that I feel like I want to always be able to give him 100% of my attention and love. I want him to have everything without us having to divide it between other siblings. I want to travel with him and give him all these unique opportunities that we really wouldn't be able to afford with 3 or 4 kids. Tim says he thinks it'll be best for Nick to have one more sibling, and that he would like to adopt a girl next. I don't care at all about gender any more, so if we decide to give him another sibling I'd be open to either. It's crazy, I just never realized I'd feel this way. I used to think when I was really young and before I met Tim that I wanted just one girl, but now that I have Nick, I LOVE being a boy mom and I wouldn't change a thing. I love that Mama's boy thing we have going on, and I love how he laughs for his Daddy, and I am so looking forward to all that they'll do together as father and son. I'm looking forward to t-ball games, and soccer practice, and messy outings looking for bugs and frogs. I feel like I just want it to be Tim, me and Nick always. It's weird! I just want to spend all my attention on him for a long, long time. I love him being my little buddy!

    I love your stroller, Sandy!

I think it's great that you're getting out with Nick so much more these days

What an amazing realization about the whole kids issue. It's so sweet that you love him so much. You're such a great Mommy
