On Saturday, Nick turned one month old!! Time has just flown by - it's true when people say children make time speed up!
Here are some of his milestones:
- Has started "talking" to us when we talk to him.
- Smiles at us when we do something to entertain him.
- Stretches legs out more and more everyday!
- Takes big boy baths every night and LOVES them!
- Has started sleeping longer stretches at night and usually only needs 2 feedings!
- Tracks us when we talk to him or come into his line of vision.
- Favorite pastime: staring at my hair!
I am so excited about the sleep thing! He is doing so well with that! Usually he eats at 10 PM and then he's out till about 5 AM. He's been doing this for the past 3-4 days, and I hope it continues! I think he's also going through a growth spurt - he ate 4 oz every 2 hours yesterday, which is very unusual for him!
Yesterday was also our first day alone together, since Tim headed back to work. It went really well! At around 2:30 he started to get really fussy, and I'll admit I started to panic a little, but we handled it and we survived! I have a deep appreciation for all SAHMs now... it is HARD work! But also really, really fun and so fulfilling. Tim is really sad that he has to miss everything while he's at work - he's such a great daddy!
I've also been struggling with what I think is PPD. It's gotten a lot better in the past few days, but for a while it was rough. It was compounded by the fact that I was majorly sleep deprived and not getting to heal from the birth. But for the past few nights I've gotten to sleep and I'm also almost done healing completely! I am feeling pretty good, and with Tim's support, almost back to my normal self.
Oh, almost forgot to say - Nick had his first playdate on Saturday!! It was so cute, our friends brought their 3 month old over. He was sooooo interested in Nick, but of course, Nick just wanted to sleep the whole time! It was adorable to see them together.
Awww! Look at him ONE month old already! His cheeks are filling in- I noticed. What a sweetie!
I bet he likes the contrast between your face and hair.
I hope you continue on doing well being a SAHM, you are right it is kind of hard... and rewarding.
