Sam has been crawling on her knees a little more the last few days. She will go a few strides then get on her belly and keep going. She also has pulled up to standing a few times. We lowered her crib mattress last night. She can also sit up from lying down. Its like she has learned all these things at the same time. She is just moving all the time. She is such a happy baby all the time. She has the sweetest little laugh.
So Sam is full blown crawling everywhere now on her hands and knees. She is pulling up on everything and starting to cruise more. She is so mischievous and into everything. When you tell her no she just laughs at you. She has also started to wave. Its the cutest thing ever.
We went to Sam's 9 month appt today. She weighed 16 pounds and 6 ounces, thats between the 10-25%. She was 28 1/2 inches long, thats between the 75-90%. Long and lean. Here head was 44cm, which is in the 50%. The doctor said everything looked great and she was right on track. We go back when she is one year. I can not believe I made her one year appt, where has the time gone?
Sam is cruising everywhere now. I am surprised she has not just taken off yet. She still does not have any teeth, I am beginning to think she is never going to get any. She seems to be growing and growing. Her and Katie are so cute together, although Katie has become more jealous at times.
So we have finally got this napping under control. Fred suggested one day for us to just try to lay her down in her crib and oh my gosh she went right to sleep. All this week I have been just laying her down awake and she goes to sleep. If she cries it is only for about 5 minutes. I am so thankful. She sleeps for about an hour and half most of the time. If she sleeps for shorter I get her up and nurse her and she sleeps a while longer. She is just the cutest. She smiles all the time. She has also been getting into everything. I have to keep a very close eye on her.
I can't believe my baby is going to be one in less than a month. Time has flown. She is such a sweet girl. She has been doing way better at eating lately. She has been been eating pasta and soft veggies. She has not been gagging near as much. She loves to pick up the food and feed herself. She is such a happy girl most of the time. You just have to smile at her and she just grins back at you. Its precious.
Sam took her first steps! She walked three steps from the table to the couch. She is doing things so much faster than Katie. Keeping us on our toes for sure.
So this little monkey is crazy. She used Katies little chair to climb on the coffee table. She pushed it over to it and then climbed on it. I ran over to her and she was just smiling. She is getting better and better at walking. She is taking up to 8 steps before falling now.
We has Sams birthday party today. It went really well. Fred cooked chili and I made cupcakes. We had just family and a few close friends. I think everyone had a good time. Sam was cute eating her cupcake. At first she was just eating the icing but then we tore apart the cake part and she started eating it too. She ate almost the whole thing, she loved it. She really didn't even make that big of a mess. She got mostly clothes and a few toys as presents.
I can not believe my little baby is a year old. What a year it has been. I am thankful she is finally napping well. I feel like I help her most of this year. I am also thankful that she is still breastfeeding well. I am really going to miss that time with her when we are done. She is just such a happy girl, always a smile on her face. She loves people and really loves Katie.
We took Sam for her one year old check up. She weighed 17 pounds and 4 ozs (10-25%), she was 29 inches (50%) and her head was 45 cm (50%). She has stayed on the same weight curve. She is such a little peanut, we told the doctor she is so small cause she never stops moving. The doctor said she looked great and was growing fine. Then came the shots. She got Hib, MMR, Varicella and PCV. Four shots, she cried but then she was fine a minute later. Still can't believe she is one.
Sam is not only walking but running everywhere. She is into everything. You have to keep a constant eye on her at all times. She is such a little monkey. She is just the cutest little baby. She has been loving going to the park, she just adores Katie.
So this week I cut out Sam's before nap nursing time. Now she is down to morning and night. I am kind of ready but I know I will miss it when we are done.
Sam has done so well with dropping the before nap nursing time. I decided to drop the morning nursing time too. She has been still waking up around 5 or 6 and I nurse her on one side and then she goes back to sleep. Then when we get up around 8 I feed her on the other side. I am going to just drop those out and see if she will stop waking up at all. I figured this morning would be a good time to start because she slept all night. I just too her down stairs and feed her some yogurt and she didn't really seem to miss nursing this morning. It is sad but I think we are ready. I am still going to nurse her at bedtime though.
Sam is doing really well with sleeping all night now. The first two nights she woke up at her 5 to 6 time, I just went in and held her a minute and put her back down. She cried for a few then went right back to sleep. The third day she just started sleeping until 8. Yay I am so proud of her. She is just growing so fast. She has also been getting into everything. All the drawers in the kitchen, playing in the toilet and just making messes. She is just so darn cute. She has the sweetest little smile, still no teeth though. We had to cut her bangs a little cause they were in her eyes. She has got the finest hair, it is starting to lay down more cause it is getting so long.
The last week or so when Sam nurses before bed it has been tough. She pops on and off and does not eat very long so I decided that we would be finished. Saturday night I nursed her for the last time. I just held her and watched her, it was very sweet. I am very proud of her and how well she has done. Also proud of myself for nursing both girls, they never had a drop of formula. This time was really hard because Sam would never take a bottle. It is bittersweet to be done but I will always cherish that time with them.
Sam has done so well without nursing. She has just adapted perfect. She still does not have any teeth. So strange to have a child that can walk, run and climb on everything and has no teeth. She is just the sweetest little girl. She is saying lots of words. Mama, dada, Katie, mimi, maw maw, paw paw, ball, night night and some more. She is also climbing on everything in sight. She can get on the couch's and in the kitchen chairs. Its so crazy that Katie didn't even walk until 15 months, which Sam almost is and she is so much more active. I tell her no no more that I ever told Katie. She is into everything. She gets into drawers and cabinets and everything. Little stinker.
Sam finally got her first tooth. The top right one popped through. I think it is a weird one to get first. She is growing so much, getting taller and her hair is getting longer. Turning into a toddler before my eyes.
Sam is eating better and better. Still just has one tooth but she eats almost everything. She is such a monkey, climbing on everything. The coffee table, kitchen table and even the bathroom sink. She is getting fast too. Starting to mimic more words and things that we do also.
Sam got her bottom right tooth in finally. I can see that the other bottom and top ones will be coming in soon. We went to the beach and had a great time. Sam is not scared of anything and had a great time playing in the sand and water. Everyone she meets just has to comment on her eyes being so blue.
