Girl
I've always heard it used as a girl's name. It's a cute name![]()

The only time I have ever heard it was a girl I coached soccer. So to me it is a girl's name.

I've seen it listed in baby name books for both boys and girls, but I've only ever met girls with the name. Had my son been a girl his name would've been Avery Jade.
It was originally a boy's name

As of late it has been used as a girl's name.

It's one of the many names that started as a boy name and is slowly making it's way over to girl name (that's the pattern for MANY names, actually). I still think it leans more towards boy, but that's because I happen to know a few little boy Averys. I do think it would work for a girl, though, particularly with a very feminine middle name
It started out a boy name but now they give it to so many girls. We too love this name but for our son who's on the way. But now I'm worried to use it because so many girls have the name.
