I'm looking for a girl's middle name to go with either of these girl names:
Our last name is 2 syllables and begins with an "S", so my only restriction is that I don't want the middle name to end in an "s" sound.
I'd like her middle name to be something a bit more popular or familiar so that her full name doesn't sound too "out there". Something along the lines of Emma or Madison.
I think for Fiona I would not pick a middle name that ends in an A, because it just never sounds awesome to me. Though you could do that with Brogan, Brogan Emma, etc. Some possibilities:
those are all from the top 25 names or so of 2010.
Rachel, momma to 4
dd 9, ds 7, twin boys Dec 09
I nursed my twins for 2years and 2 weeks! A little sad to be all done now.
I LOVE Brogan Ella!!!
I think Madeline would sound adorable with either first name.
One of my best friends is named Fiona Sophie B***, and I always loved the way Fiona Sophie sounded!
Laszlo Jacob, 11/9/11
Hmmmm... I have never heard of Brogan as a girl's name, only ever as a boy's (my nephew for one) and a surname... I'm not sure what I would pair it with
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!!!! They are all great!!!!
I really like Fiona Lily and Brogan Ella (although we have a niece named Ella, so I would maybe use Emma instead).
Marla, you are right that Brogan is usually used more as a boy's name, although it is actually unisex...DH is a teacher and has a female student named Brogan, so he and I seem to already have a female association with the name.
I have a Fiona. Though her middle name is Beatrice, which breaks your 's' rule. However, her middle name was almost June. Which I think goes nicely, Fiona June.
some more ideas:
Ethan - June 21, 2009
Olivia - December 5, 2010
5w3d - October/November 2012

I agree with PP's that if you use Brogan to have a more girly name for the middle name! (:
I think Fiona is a sweet name so I think a more masculine name would be great.
