Hello all! I posted on here a little bit a few months back, but got very busy to even come on the org at all! My baby Oakley is now 4.5 months! Time is flying! Like I was warned, he is getting big for the moby to be very comfy carrying him--my back is still OK, but he likes to wiggle out of it because it is stretchy. I really want to make a mei tei and I found a great tutorial on it (I sew like a madwoman and I need a new project ) So, my question is, how young can you back carry a baby in a mei tei?
Also....I have been using our hiking pack--really cheap one I got at a yard sale for $5 years ago-no bells or whistles, but it has worked for all of our kids on hikes. He likes it, but it isn't very comfy looking when he falls asleep in it, and its really big with the frame. He likes it, and he likes me to back carry him, but he also LOVE to pull my hair at the base of my neck. Will a back carry in a different wrap get him lower or his arms less able to reach my hair when I pull it up. Right now, even a high bun keeps him in reach of the nape of my neck... :/
But basically, whenever I do any walking or go anywhere, he is in the moby because he hates a stroller. I guess I got him used to being carried
ETA im borrowing my friends ergo for a zoo field trip tomorrow for my oldest--can he back carry in that at 4.5 months? he has great head/neck/back control and is great at sitting on my hip as i carry him around the house now
