Okay, so I'm going to have newborn in April and an 18 month old princess. I really want to get good at breastfeeding in a carrier quickly. Anyone have any tips. I'll most likely be using a ring sling primarily at first. I won't be offended by any pics showing what it should resemble to properly BF in a ring sling (or other carrier).

I always wanted to get good at BFing in a carrier, but could never quite figure out how to get the positioning just right. I'd be interested to see this, too.
I don't have any pictures of Aiden BFing in a carrier, but I can try later to get one! It won't be the same as a newborn though. (duh lol) I was able to successfully BF Aiden in ring slings and mei tais. Somewhere I saved video links for BFing in carriers that were good....I'll try and find those soon.
It is VERY possible (maybe for someone who doesn't traditionally suck at wrapping like me) to nurse in a wrap, and I've heard of people nursing in SSCs, but I don't know how they did that comfortably without completely having to changing all the webbing lengths (which would annoy me b/c once I find that perfect sweet spot I don't ever adjust the straps again!!!).

I did this with my ring sling (Maya Wrap) all the time. I grocery shopped and even ran through an airport to make a connection while nursing in the sling once when DD was 2 months old...memories :) The best part about the ring sling is you can just flip the tail up to cover and nobody has any idea what's going on under there.
I don't know how to describe how it's done, though--it was pretty easy. I just put her in a horizontal hold with her head away from the ring ("backward" but how I usually wore her anyway--it was most comfortable for both of us) In this pic I'm not actually nursing, but you can see how it would be pretty simple to just push down the inner fabric and she'd be good to go!

Here's some toddler nursing in a ring sling! I was taking photos for another thread and he started signing milk. :lol:
I already had DS tummy to tummy in the ring sling. I just loosened the ring sling to where he was closer to the boob. I did tighten the upper rail some after latching him on to better support him.

And my ring sling has a long tail, so I flipped it up to show it as a cover. DS doesn't always go for this these days, but as you can tell, it's not like anybody sees much anyway.

Ronin was 5 weeks in this photo and having lunch a the beach. I just popped him in the sling and folded the excess over him so no one could see. I actually had to lift the tshirt up onnthat side and no one could see anything. I ended up walking like this as well, but no photos.
If I was wearing more than just a bra with an undercover mama tank, I'd be showing a lot less skin in my photos. But it's hot in this apartment even with the heat off!
