Most of you have seen these but I thought I'd post my BWing pics from my vacation.

My glowing SIL & edible neice in the ringsling.
Stealing the ringsling for a moment to try out a back carry.
Daisha and I had a sewing adventure. I bought the ringsling in the picture on Etsy in an attempt to save some money. It came with a tail that extends all the way to the floor on me and probably drags for Daisha. I'd meant to hem it but you know how things go when you have a newborn and I quit using it when T hit 20 lbs and I got my hands on a MT. So I sent it to Daisha with the long tail. The last day of our visit, I got it in my head that I should finally shorten the dang thing. Daisha has a sewing machine, which neither she nor I knew how to operate. It took us a good 20 minutes to figure out that we didn't have some pretty essential items .. like bobbins and needles. Still determined, I decided to hem it by hand. I think it came out OK. I hope its still holding up!
I'm sure it's fine if it's just the end. Even a bad hem job is safe at the bottom of the tail. I used stitch witchery for my DIY gauze wrap which I've also used as a no sew ring sling. So if worst comes to worse tell her to try that for the hem.
Silly girl. I could have hemmed that for you in 30 seconds! But I agree with Jackie--it should be fine. Hand sewing isn't any less sturdy than machine, it's just not as neat and takes waaaay longer.
