I bet the white one I have from my wedding would work as a shorty.
I tried one of my table cloths (OK, my only table cloth)! Its far too wide and folding it width wise makes it really heavy and difficult to deal with. It would be tons easier with a narrower piece of cloth. T liked it! My back did start bugging me though. I think it was primarily because I couldn't get the hold quite right with the table cloth. The fabric is a little to slippery and the knot was way too big. Anyway, pics of my first wrapping adventure.

Yes, you will want to cut any table cloth or warp in half more than likely unless it's really thin. Tablecloths are not thin. I'd say about 25-30" wide. I like 30" for toddlers, but 25" works.
BTW, you did a GREAT job for a first attempt with a table cloth folded in half!
I'm super late to this party... but, have you tried the Ergo hip carry? I know not many people do it, but it does exist, right? Good job on the table cloth though. I wish I had access- I have TWO slings back home (a mesh and my Maya) that I am not using right now. I would so happily lend them to you!

Also, you have not replied to me about your TTC plans. Obviously, I deserve to know.

I've done awkward hip carries with the Ergo. It's not my favorite thing to do.
Mara, the plan right now is to start trying to catch that eggy at the end of next month!
hmmm, I might have to try this! I'm having the same problem with Olivia not wanting to be worn, but being very clingy!

Are we going to end up with a thread of "check out my tablecloth!" soon?
