13" is NOT wide enough for the back carries you're trying.

Go and make an account (it's free) over at thebabywearer.com. They have a DIY sub forum where you can search for wrapping material threads keeping in mind that you want toddler worthy. They also have a huge (and overwhelming at first) wrapping sub forum.

    Quickly figuring that out.

I ended up cutting off the seam I made, opening up the fabric, re-tapering it (so now I have even less length), and re-hemming it. Took me a few hours while keeping an eye on the kids and homeschooling my oldest and babysitting my niece and stuff. I haven't tried to wrap with it yet... Evie wasn't wanting it, but now she's getting tired, so I'm gonna try a FCC in a little bit, I think. I don't know if I'll have enough to tie (I was already tying tails), but I'll find out soon.

You have lots of room to tighten the carry to give you that room!

    Good luck!

I was unable to do a FCC, but I tried a ruck back carry and it worked! With plenty of room to tie! I'm super proud. Still perfecting it, though as the top rail was not as tight as it should/could be. But, thankful I don't have to toss it completely.
