Introduction and pics of my first BWing attempt

Hello! I have never posted on here so I thought I would introduce myself. I have an almost three year old daughter and I am about 28 weeks along with my second. I intended to get into babywearing with DD and I purchased a hotsling to use when she was a newbie. I really disliked the sling and I felt like she was never in it correctly and I hurt my shoulder to wear it more then about 30 minutes. After that experience I just didn't pursue any other options. This time around I really want to make more of an effort and get into BWing full time. I bought a Babyhawk and it just came in the mail today. I put DD in it and I thought I did pretty well for my first shot! I have some pics below, so let me know if I did it right. I really have gotten a lot out of lurking this board and I hope to post here more often!

Thanks for looking!

Welcome!!!

I'm not an expert, but it looks pretty good to me. I assume you are tying it low for the baby belly. Did you try tying it above the belly? Just curious if that feels better or worse? How did it feel to you?

I did tie low because of the belly. It felt comfy to me. I didn't try above the belly, would that work for a toddler?

Welcome Lauren! Glad to have you over here. Smile

You did a great job getting your DD on your back - especially for a first timer! Some pregnant ladies find it more comfortable tied above the belly, others find it more comfortable to tie it under the belly. Either will work with a toddler.

Welcome!

I totally understand what you mean about hating the sling and giving up with your DD--that ALMOST happened to me, too. Fortunately, I had a mom and baby group with lots of babywearers in it, and when I started getting really frustrated, they helped me figure out a better carrier for me, and how to use it! I never looked back Smile

I think especially with a toddler and a new baby, you'll really love it this time around. Come hang out and share your successes and questions anytime!
