Others wearing your LO(s)

Does your DH/SO wear you LO(s) ever? Do the grandparents ever wear? How about nannies/babysitters/etc? If so, what is their favorite carrier to use?
If no one else wears your LO(s), would you let them or are you too paranoid?

What a great topic. DH wears DD a lot (more when she was younger, but that's true for me too)...usually when we are all together out somewhere, although recently I wasn't feeling well and took a nap, and he took her plus one of our dogs to the park and went for a long walk with her in the Ergo (back carry...she fell asleep)--he was very proud of himself for managing it alone Smile

I tried to teach my mom, but she was a wimp about it and gave up almost immediately. My SIL used to carry her in the Ergo back when it belonged to her, but she has 3 kiddos that she carried so she knew what she was doing.

My husband does wear DS, on average once a week. He's even finally brave enough to do a back carry out in public in the Ergo by himself! Yahoo
He prefers a SSC (especially the Ergo), but has used the Moby and mei tais before.

My mom has worn DS once in an Ergo and told me that she'll never do it again. My sister has worn DS a couple of times (Ergo and Bamberoo). She liked the B'roo more. I doubt if she'll volunteer to wear him now that he's bigger but I'm sure I can get her to wear a smaller baby in the future. Keep in mind she's a teenager still in high school! Lol

I have let the rare babysitter (always close friends) wear DS as long as they've been shown how to properly use the carrier (mei tai). I know this has happened at least once. Smile
I have let a guy friend wear DS before in a back carry with my help. He volunteered!

I posted pics of Teagan being worn by others in my intro thread, I think. So, I'll leave out pics. Anyway, I encourage anyone to wear Teagan now that she's older. DH wears her when his back isn't bothering him. My Dad has worn her a bunch of times. We don't see family very often and most of my friends have their own babies to contend with when I see them. When a friend of ours was briefly watching Teagan while we were in class, I encouraged her to wear Teagan so that she could take care of her own two monsters and she did all the time. She had worn her DDs and was so happy that Teagan loved to be worn.

When DD was born, my DH was VERY much into making sure he did everything with her that I did (he was honestly pissed about BFing, because I could feed her and he couldn't)... so we used to pretty much fight over wearing her. Smile He's used mei tais, ring slings, and now we both mainly use the Ergo. I know he tried on the Moby once before she was born (as did I), and he liked it, because he felt like a Jedi. Smile But, I don't think he actually ever used it because summer came quickly, and it was just too hot.

I don't think I've ever had anyone else besides the two of us wear her, but, I wouldn't be opposed. I think the opportunity just hasn't come up. I've been a little too addicted to her since day 1 to just offer her out to anyone we were with. Smile

DH with her at 2 mos

Ergo naps used to be very common

On the beach in Australia, almost 9 mos old

I wish I had a picture of DH wearing her in "his" mei tai. I had ordered a hot pink one when I found it on sale... but DH was hardly going to wear that. So I let him pick one out that would be "his". It's a beige body/straps with a guitar patterned panel on the big part of the carrier. Very cute. And he was adorable wearing her. Smile

Hahaha...that's my DH, totally. He was ENRAGED when I told him about some people buying AIOs as "Daddy diapers"

Just like how I can't imagine Addy throwing a tantrum, I can't imagine your DH ever becoming ENRAGED about anything. Though if he were ever to become ENRAGED near me, I'd run away because he's very tall and I'd be afraid of being stepped on.

ROFL

I may be given to hyperbole Wink

But he did get extremely indignant and set out to become the most proficient PF-diaperer who ever did live.

And I promise you, Adair knows how to tantrum. Oh, boy. You just always see her when she's in her element: out and about. The attitude comes out when she is hungry/tired/bored, which is why we rarely sit around the house when she is awake! And, I think, why she always hated being carried parent-facing. The world is way too interesting!

Interesting question!

Now that I think about it, DH has never worn DD ever. He used to wear DS quite a bit. With two kids we split up a lot and DS is such a runner DH usually gets put in charge of him, so when DD is worn it's always me wearing her.

No one else has ever worn either kid, not that I'm opposed to it, just no one has asked.
