The pregnant baby-wear!

I did it! I found a comfy position! I think, Anna, you had suggested somewhere once tying the straps over the belly instead of under, and I didn't listen... but I did it today when I was at a loss, and it worked! So thanks for the advice that I belatedly took!

I took my DD and my nephew on a good hour long walk when my DD started asking to nurse (and nap) right when my nephew woke up from the shortest nap ever. Nephew was in the stroller, and DD was like this in the mei tai!

Thanks! I just added a couple more pics. I find with the mei tai I'm most comfortable when I spread the straps as much as possible like that... the only problem is then I get restricted movement. But, for going for a walk (and maybe for the airport after all) this was really comfortable!

She felt quite secure too... she did pop one arm out, and then I felt extra bad because originally when I put her in there I wasn't thinking of going for a walk, and then it was 5 million degrees outside and I was worried she was going to get sunburned. She looks ok though. Also, her hat fell off twice, and I had to ask random people on the street to put it back on. Oops. Thats the only downside to the back carry huh... can't really see what they are up to (not sure when exactly she fell asleep) and can't do anything about it when things like hats falling off happen!

I really want to try a wrap conversion mei tai one day because of the ability to fan it out at the shoulders or leave it bunched up on top more like a "regular" mei tai. You need to add info and pictures to our All About Mei Tai thread! Biggrin
That is a draw back of back wearing! DS took off his shoe one day when we were out shopping and I never noticed. Not even sure how he managed to do that. I was so thankful that I spotted it as I was driving across the parking lot to leave! lol.

Uh huh... see I didn't even know this was a "wrap conversion" mei tai! Smile I do like it!

I can add whatever you want me to to that thread! Smile

And yeah... the first time the hat fell off I didn't see it right away, so I thought it was stuck around her neck (it has a strap), but then I went a few steps and turned around and looked again, and then it was. So glad I spotted it, because it's really the only hat we have right now that fits her at all well, and unfortunately, these are the kinds of things that it's not that easy to just run out and pick up here.

Is it a Maya Tai? I think that's the only easy to find that's similar to a wrap conversion.

Yes, it is a Maya Tie. There was someone on here... Momto3kiddoes maybe? who I think used to mod the board who also had a store. She had it on sale for cheap- like it was only $40 I think, so I snapped it up. Smile

You know I was going to say about the "All About..." threads... there are quite a few of them... but it seems like it might be worth sticky-ing them! Otherwise they get lost. But they are full of good info that lurkers might like too!

Too many to sticky or else I would! They are all listed and linked on the FAQ read me first sticked thread. Smile

That was a great deal on that carrier!

Awesome! You look great baby wearing with that cute baby bump!! I found the bigger I got the harder the extra weight was on me and I get tired really fast if I try to wear her while doing stuff around the house. I plan to baby wear DS way more than I did DD. I've tried it both ways with the straps, but I found that under the belly is a very temporary solutions and I felt like she sank down too low after a few minutes.

Anna, you're going to be a BWing pro with Kole. Someone has got to spread the BWing love around that city. Wink

I wish I would have continued to baby-wear during my pregnancy, you make it look easy! It looks pretty comfortable.

Mostly done out of necessity, I tell ya! I don't have a double stroller, so being able to go out of the house with two kids (my DD and my nephew) necessitates one being worn. And same for when I head home... I'll BW because it'll be easier than dealing with luggage and a stroller when I'm by myself.

What a great looking bump you have!
How comfortable is it for you with the waist that low? I'm curious how I'll do with my SSCs.

Ditto this! Though I'm about to try it here in a few minutes. I'll post pics.

Posting here too. I found it really comfortable, despite it not being properly adjusted. This is me at 38w5d pregnant and it wasn't bad, though I think it does force you to wear them a bit lower, but you experts can tell me if it's too low or not.

I think as long as it's secure and you're comfortable, it's fine!

Not too low. You've seen pics on how low DH wears his. Wink

I was actually really comfortable with it that low. I don't know if it's because things have shifted with the baby or what, because over Christmas when I was trying to wear her in the Ergo, but just wear her low, it just didn't feel good on my belly/baby- I couldn't get her low enough to be comfortable...but this time, it was totally fine.

And thanks for the compliment. Smile
