Check out this ridiculousness! There's the link... but here's the article:
POLICE have lectured a father for carrying a year-old child on his back, reigniting the baby-sling safety debate.
Police stopped Andrew Langford, 29, who had his daughter Eleanor in a backpack-style carrier near his home in Frankston last week.
Officers were responding to complaints from a concerned resident, who feared the unusual sling would suffocate the child.

Police questioned Mr Langford for 10 minutes before letting him walk home, but the incident has prompted warnings the device could be more dangerous than slings worn on the front.
Kidsafe Victoria president Robert Caulfield said parents needed to be aware of how to use the carrier properly to avoid smothering a child.
"If you have a sling on the back, check the baby regularly," Mr Caulfield said.
"A sling on the front is more appropriate because you can see the baby's face, but there is the risk of falling over.
"This kind of situation (where a child suffocates) is rare, but it can haunt a parent forever. We are not saying don't use a sling, but it is important people take the right precautions."
Mr Langford hit back at his critics, saying he knew how to use the sling safely.
"It is the same as using a pram or a car seat, there are risks associated with it if you do not know how to use it properly," Mr Langford said.
"People often ask about it, but it is like having a big cuddle with your child and you can do things with your hands."
Mr Langford said he reported the police to the Ethical Standards Department because they lectured him on parenting once they had checked the baby was safe.
The latest sling death occurred in South Australia in September.
There is a picture with the article, and he appears to be wearing her VERY safely. And she doesn't look like she could suffocate if she tried.
I guess they didn't necessarily say outward facing front carriers... but it seems people have a prejudice against back-carries! So much mis-information!
