Take it or leave it?

The only carrier we are getting any regular use out of is the Ergo. We're going on a 11 day road trip, three days of which will be camping and hiking. We still use the Kelty frame pack for hikes but its soooo bulky and not all that superior to the Ergo for long hikes. What do I do, ladies?! Is it worth it to lug that thing along?

Personally I would leave it and use that space for other stuff, but I prefer to camp in luxury so would take more comfort items than you would Blum 3 I'm a bit of a girl when it comes to camping.

If it's super hot hiking you might prefer the kelty since there won't be a sweaty toddler against you, but otherwise why bring two carriers when one (the Ergo) will do?

It shouldn't be wicked hot where we're going. In the 80s. We don't go on looooong hikes anymore because DH's back can't handle it. I think we'll just leave the frame pack and bring the dog's backpack and make her carry T's stuff. Smile

Lol Ours does too...we usually make him carry his own water. Making him carry baby stuff too is a GREAT idea.
