What did you do today while BWing?

Just wore Addy to the park a couple of blocks away, played for a while, had a snack, and came back. It sounds awesome and I would do that every afternoon, but unfortunately it's a pretty sketchy park (the structure is covered in graffiti, a lot of it gang graffiti and the rest stuff I won't repeat--suffice it to say that we will not be going there when she can read!) I just didn't have it in me to get in the car and drive to a nicer park this afternoon, though, so it served its purpose! The walk was great. I actually wanted to just keep walking around for a while--it's gorgeous out, and I was super comfy with her in the Ergo--but she's in kind of a juggernaut mood and wasn't up for a longer walk. Now I'm just letting her destroy the living room until DH gets home. :)

Well, graffiti park is better than no park! I was asking around on a FB group for the base we're moving to and apparently the area DH wants to live is known for it's lack of playgrounds. I told DH he needs to be open to other areas because I don't want to have to get in a car and drive 10-15 minutes just for a playground. :p

Today I wore Aiden to go check the mail (it's on the other side of the complex) and wash dishes. He didn't have a great seat, so I got him down after that intending to practice more but he ran. :roll: I got him on my back again later on - one leg was great and thte other one definitely not at all! But I kept him up because I needed to finish cooking dinner. He cried, whined, and pulled my hair. It was wonderful. NOT. But at least I knew where he was and he was out of trouble.

Today, I was truly grateful for BWing. I babysat for a friend last night and had to carry both Teagan and my wee charge into daycare. Thank goodness for my Ergo. I got lots of comments from other parents as I walked in. Mostly, "Way to go!" and "You need a carrier for the front" and "Hey, wait, they ARE twins?" (Its funny because they've been mistaken for twins on numerous occasions)

There are several parks nearby that are nice but "nearby" doesn't really translate to "within easy walking distance." We've walked to one a few times and almost always come back in the dark. It would be easier if we were home during regular playground hours. Oh well, Teagan gets plenty of playground time at school and when she goes with daddy after school.

I love that using the Ergo turned you into super mommy. :D

Yeah, there's a REALLY nice brand new playground at a beautiful park a little over a mile away, but it's not a very walkable mile (a big portion is sketchy railroad/industrial area, no sidewalks) so we drive to that one too. And neither of them have baby swings. Oh well--within a ten minute drive we have one million park choices...sometimes I just don't want to have to deal with the car! Hope you can find a place with something walkable, Jackie...

Today I wore Aiden a lot. He took his only nap of the day on my back. He fell asleep so quickly that my "quick trip" into Target to pick up clearance boxers for DH (I totally got 4 pairs for $1.44! :lol:) turned into 90 minutes of me walking up and down every aisle. I just couldn't bring myself to disrupt him. lol. Wore him again at Aldi and the commissary. And to cook lunch. Thankfully DH got home right before dinner, so I didn't have to wear for that too. I kinda need my space right now. :p

Whew, I bet! I wore Addy to Target yesterday too--bought her a "big girl" car seat (the kind that converts up to booster eventually) since the cover on her old one was literally falling apart to the point that she was sitting back there picking out the stuffing and handing it to me :eyeroll: DESIGN FAIL.

Then I wore her all around the park (the nice, big central park) because she had been begging to go see the ducks for a couple of days, and I wanted a little exercise anyway.

Aaaah! Addy's in a "big birl" car seat! How have they grown so fast? I swear they were NBs like yesterday.

P.S. Almost witnessed a baby girl fight over Aiden this morning. I guess Aiden was really impressed by Teagan's outfit and ran up to her pointing and smiling. Good thing Addy was in the corner playing and didn't see it! When she noticed he'd run away, Addy started yelling for him ;). She's got the lock down on that boy!

What did I tell you? We are in TROUBLE.

Yeah, I went ahead and got her a Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 because I just can't justify buying another baby seat at this point on our tight budget, and she is way over the height and weight limits for safety on the new one anyway. I'm still keeping her rear-facing in the truck, especially since there's no buffer at all with her in the front (only) seat in there, but in the center seat of the Jetta, I'm OK with forward-facing. She's gigantic now anyway.

Aaaaaand back on topic, I just wore her to an appointment at the ENT! Worked so much better than the stroller--there was a lot of up/down and moving around to be done, and the Ergo was perfect for it. I heart TW in my Ergo so much. I even started keeping one diaper and a baggie of wipes in the pocket as a permanent emergency diaper bag, and what do you know--it worked :)

No BWing here today. I feel like crap and luckily the weather is as bad as I feel so DH was sent home after only 7 hours (usually he's gone 12-14 hours)!
But I did write a blog post about BWing tonight. :lol:

Leigh, I love hearing how BWing is going so well for you right now. AS much as we want our kids to explore the world around them, there's still a place for snuggles and wearing. :)
