Absolutely! Your blog post was spot on...I ended up wearing Addy in the Maya hip carry last night because she was just being so clingy, and DH was getting stressed out in the kitchen, and I just couldn't help him and deal with her at the same time. So up she went, and she was actually happy in there for about half an hour...long enough to get what we needed to done! Some of that time I was sitting down, and she was still happy. Just needed some mommy time, I guess...and wearing her was the perfect compromise!

But now I can chime in! My little Oakley was born just over 2 weeks ago and I'm just in love--with him and with my Moby! I had only ever had a baby bjorn and a homemade "hotsling" style sling with my older kids and neither of them were very comfortable. I wore Oakley on a 1 mile walk to and from school to pick the kids up last week--my first real outing to try to get some exercise on--and through target on a no-school day where I was trying to wrangle the other 3. It was great, and so comfy! And last night, I wore him part of the time at the swimming pool while supervising dd at a birthday swimming party--but it got too warm for both of us very quickly in the very warm indoor pool area, so I pulled him out. And around the house--I've worn him at least a part of every day since he was a few days old because he is happiest when held and I can get something done.

From what I've read on here, I have a feeling I'll love the moby for this newborn state and then need something else for when he is bigger. But for now, the moby is a lifesaver!

Congrats Holly!!! The Moby is a great winter carrier. I'm glad to hear that BWing is working out really well this time around!

As I mentioned in the winter BWing thread, today we did the grab baby and run inside the store, and then put him in the carrier. Today's goal was to make DH buy clothes. :p

I haven't used my wrap in a few days. I think that's what I'm going to do right now before DS needs to go to bed. :lol:

Wore Adair to the zoo yesterday (awesome) and for a quick run to the store today. She thought we were going to the playground for some reason, and was pretty mad to realize we were at Ross! So I wore her so I could keep her happier and more contained than the cart, considering she was crying and screaming "Wheeee!! WHEEEEE!!!" (which is what she calls playgrounds. Much like she calls almost all animals exclusively by the sounds they make, except ducks.) After that, I took pity and we stopped for a quick play in the park before the big grocery shop.

I'm realizing I haven't worn DD all week! I was on a work Conference Mon-Thurs and then just played with her and DS all weekend so didn't BW! We did go to the Children's Museum Saturday but she was so excited to run around and DH was with us so he chased DS and I chased DD for the most part so they could both play the entire time! It was a blast! We did a lot of snuggling today so didn't think of BWing but def. have to BW Monday or Tuesday! :)

I chucked DS up on my bad when he was whinging and I needed to cook tea and wash up. He calmed down and asked to get down and happily played after about 10-15 mins up there

No BWing yesterday. My DH came home super early due to bad weather, so I didn't have to wear when there's 2 more hands around to do DS's bidding. :p

I did however wear off and on all morning! I pretied a FCC (front cross carry) with my woven wrap. I popped DS in so I could get cloth diaper laundry started and dishes in the sink. Then I popped him out and put him in the car. Back in the FCC while I paid for our last weeks of rental furniture (almost moving time again! Yay!), again off and on at the BFing playgroup on base, and again for me to pick up butter at the commissary. Not brave enough to do back wrapping in public, but this was a nice front carry that allowed me to wear him without having to take the carrier on an off. Glad to have finally used my wrap out in public. :)

Wendy, that's great that BWing calmed him down. Also glad to hear that you're still attempting back carries!!! :D

Mel, I've decided toddler wearing comes and goes in waves. Sometimes there will be several days when it's just not needed, but other days there's no way to even survive without BWing!

Leigh, your story had me laughing! I'm sure that'll be my DS in a few months. :lol:

I'll have to take a picture at some stage of my dodgy tie to enable a back carry with the super short straps.
