It's hot here so not too much baby wearing outside, Ronin is a sweaty boy and always heats up quickly so he walks (ok runs), I carry him or we use the pram a lot. I use the pram when it's to hot to wear and it's not safe for him to walk like up town on a Saturday morning.
Wore at the post office today, take two. She struck up quite a conversation with the lady in front of us in line from back there :lol: We picked up the tiger costume I ordered for her to wear in the Purim parade (her daycare is at a temple) and tried it on...WHY DID MY CAMERA CHOOSE THIS WEEK TO DIE??? Argh...
Sigh. Tried to wear DD last night, but no go. I don't know what's going on with her... she's been on the verge of a fever for three days, is alternately clingy/whiny/wanting to nurse and/or sleep and just fine. She freaked when I tried to take her temp in one ear last night- as though the ear hurt- so I'll keep an eye on that. Don't know if it's just these molars continuing to do their work or what. But my DH picked her up early from my SIL yesterday because she even texted saying she (Beni) wasn't coping. :( So when I got home, she wanted to nurse, and then I asked her if she wanted dinner. She said yes. But she didn't want to allow cooking time. So I tried to mei tai her while I was cooking, but she just threw a bigger fit about that. :( I don't think she minds the back carry mei tai, but, I don't think it's her favorite either.
I wore DD a lot last summer... but we weren't necessarily in places where it was very hot. There were certainly plenty of times when DH or I took her off, and both her and our shirt would be wet. Ick. But still, it was so much easier to wear her than drag that fricking stroller around everywhere! Leigh, I remember reading your stroller in NYC rant on another thread somewhere, and I just wanted to add that I know EXACTLY how you feel. We haven't been in NYC with Beni, but, we've been enough places all over the world with her that I pretty much HATE strollers now. :) Ok, they have their place... but, 9 times out of 10 I will choose the carrier over the stroller. Even now, with #2 on the way... we're not looking at buying a double stroller- we're buying a second Ergo! :) Baby-wearers forever! ;) (I suppose that won't really work...)
That's exactly how DD was acting last week, and that's when I started suspecting molars. This week has been better, thank goodness. Not perfect, but a lot better so far. She's even been allowing us to just leave the room when we put her in bed, rather than having to sit there in the dark and sneak out when she's asleep...this is a FIRST. Two days in a row now...a new era??? Fingers crossed!Quote:

I wore Aiden in my ring sling today to a La Leche League meeting. First time I've ever been living someplace that has them! Was a lot of fun and I met a couple of BWers, including a wrapper. Lots of fun and can't wait to talk to them more in the months to come. :)
BWing fail after that though. When I got out DH called me to meet him at Target in town to see the baby gate he found there (need one for the stairs here). Totally not fun trying to check out a baby gate while BWing a big toddler in a front carry! Took him down where he then proceeded to "shop." *sigh* Totally going to throw a mei tai out in the car again (it got moved out from moving) so I can always have a back carry! Ha ha!
Broke out the wrap earlier this evening and wore him in a rucksack back carry to walk to the commissary and back (little over a mile total). I think I finally am starting to understand how to make ruck straps more comfortable for myself - sandwich and fold them rather than gather them! lol.

Oh, and, after the doc, we ran downtown to pick up a few things... I had thrown my ring sling in the car, because I thought I might have to walk a few blocks with DD. I'm not going to lie, it was 97 degrees yesterday, and I just couldn't do it. I find that Maya ring sling to be SO HOT- not as bad as the Moby, but, not far off. So I just lugged her and let her walk holding my hand as much as she could. We made it ok. :)
I have no idea. He was 29.5" at 12 months which was the last time he was measured. lol I asked my husband and he said, "maybe 2 feet?" :ROFL: Try again honey.Quote:

With each kid i add to the family i realize how crucial BWing is! I dont know how people even have more than 1 kid and not BW! Lol my guy pretty much lives in either the moby or ring sling all day. In the last few days i have worn him while cooking, vacuuming, giving the kids a bath, and playing with the kids outside. It just makes life so much easier! I know i am preaching to the choir here :)
