Wore Aiden grocery shopping today on my back in my new woven. I'm definitely not as sickly as I've been feeling, so I think I'm starting to turn the corner into the much happier 2nd tri! I did have two different people stop and ask me how old my baby was. Both were rather shocked when I said 18 months! :lol:
That article is fairly worded and does have some good things to consider in it...however as someone who was "blessed" with a take-the-world-by-storm kind of child who despised not being able to look around from day one, and only carried front facing in a buddha position in a RS when she was small, I kind of wish it was titled something more along the lines of Nine Reasons Not to Carry Your Baby in a Crotch Dangler. :p
Me too! lol. Even I put DS FFO a few times in a ring sling. Usually only for 15 minutes with him in a "budda carry" but it was enough for us to have 15 minutes of peace when eating at at restaurant at around 4 months. ;)Quote:

wow i can only see the 'not being held' attempts being an issue if it's colic style screaming if they are put down for even a minute, then maybe trying to wean off it a bit isn't a bad thing, but otherwise that just seems odd.

haha i get surprises all the time when ppl find out my 'little baby up there' isn't so little or baby!!
nothing much today since it's been nice and we just played outside, bubbles, tried her kite, sandbox, but either later today (get daddy) or tom (playgroup) for sure, it's been nice since she's hit another 'clingy' phase with the last two molars almost through and the growth spurt causing her legs to hurt (walk it off for a bit then carry to rest the muscles!) just had to chime in jade HATED and still does the cradle hold, even as a newborn 'bouncing' her to sleep she had to be upright head in my shoulder!
It's so funny how different kids are! I definitely had a weirdo. :p She would fuss and work her way into screaming if I didn't fix it whenever I tried to hold her upright and parent-facing. In cradle hold, she was 100% happy and content for hours upon hours. I nearly despaired of being able to BW at all until I discovered the RS. Moby (I know you can cradle hold in that but never figured out how), mei tai, and SSCs were all totally useless for me. And of course that's what I was prepared with...I thought I had it COVERED. Ha.
I get to introduce a workmate to baby wearing. She was given what sounds like a RS in a bunch of stuff she bought but has no idea how to use it. She will love it as she is going to be flying overseas when bub is a few months old with baby and a 4 year old on her own. Any links for videos or anythign I can show her to get her on the babywearing band wagon.

I didn't watch these but the ones that came on the DVD with my sling were HUGELY helpful so I'm assuming they're of equally good quality.

The lady who chucked the sling in remembers me from playgroup for the short time I went, and said if my workmate needed help I would probbaly know. And if she hates the RS and it's a nice one, it could find a new home here, I wouldn't say no. I am good with carries for an older baby in the RS but didn't use it for a newborn and actually hated it for awhile when he was little because I just couldn't work it out right.
