What did you do today while BWing?

sporadic wearing this week. bathroom reno is in full swing, needless to say my meds are not keeping up with the environment change and the death of dear kitty on sunday. however we do get out and she is doing another (OMG NO) growth spurt, eating all the time and her legs get really sore fast (walks a couple blocks then wants up for a bit then back down) today was Mall day since there was no toilet available at home so she ran the mall for the morning and crashed for the hour bus home (another coma day out of ergo with barely a peep and into bed!!) got the ultimate surprise so far, you know i love the 'omg there's a baby in there' comments! well a young man sat down beside me on the bus and i 'joked' just watch the extra foot' he saw the shoe and thought nothing of it just that is was an ornament on my backpack! LOL then about 5 min down the road she flinched and kicked him!!! he jumped, laughed and 'omg now i get it, the extra foot, there's a person in there!' sat back down and we chatted. then a lady came on with her stroller and 6 mns old, she has a snugli but hates it (not that i blame her! lol!) and she asked where i got ergo, what is it, how much and immediately hit her phone, confirming address and details! she was soo happy when i told her it was a great investment and that the one in mine was already two! 45lbs weight limit on it!! love sharing the love!

beach blanket is a great idea! i've used the moby as a towel before when we weren't planning on being wet!

leigh don't dispair i thought jade was done too until the 2yr growth spurt hit, now that she knows it's her choice she goes back and forth, and as i said the spurt hurts her legs and i can only get her to 'stretch' them out so much before i know she needs that break! plus this time of year i'm finding it great for the way home from the playground (walking distance) since she passes out half way home (3 blocks!)

BWing while traveling is pretty much a necessity for me. Lots of on and off wearing. How else does one unpack and repack a car at a hotel without a carrier? I did have a guy at the hotel breakfast this morning ask me if I've seen one of "those backpack carriers" because I might find it easier than a long piece of cloth. :lol:

I'm not despairing of EVER using it again--part of the reason I got so wholeheartedly back into it was to get back into practice for the trip we're taking soon, when I know it's going to be a LIFESAVER. Summer here is just kind of like winter everywhere else--you know, the season when you go outside as little as possible :)--so I haven't been using the stroller OR walking, we just...haven't been going anywhere that requires any kind of distance (and she sits in the cart at the grocery store) But it is still good to hear that your 2yo is loving it so much, because I do love it too and I look forward to getting back to having a reason again!

I wore Aiden while I was picking up a few items for my parents yesterday afternoon. Tried out my Beanslings MT (it was more comfortable than the other MT I tried earlier in the week at least!) and of course my wrap. I think Aiden prefers the wrap because I do a single layer carry with it and it's much thinner than the mei tai - it's hot now!

I wore today! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay for maybe five minutes total, but still! Addy saw me grab the Ergo.when we were heading out to the store with a quick stop for feeding ducks planned first, and got REALLY excited. So even though the duck pond is totally walkable for her from the car, I listened to the 'Back! BACK !" And wore her to and from. Yay!

Wore Aiden in a ring sling yesterday for my little sister's graduation baccalaureate. He wasn't too fond about that for the most part, but at least he was an angel for part of it - the part where I was stopped by a lady and told that my carrier was "sexy." That has to be one of the best comments I've ever gotten!!!

Did lots of BWing this weekend. I wore T in the Ergo for much of a retreat at the Biosphere. She was so excited during the tour and kept pushing my head side to side to get a better look. I tried positioning her higher but I guess I have a big head or she was simply enjoying pushing me around. :) I wore her while we drank late into the evening. I even found a comfy way to nurse her to sleep in the Ergo. I more or less sat for a little while and nursed her and then with her still in a cradle position, pulled the carrier up over her and put one strap on. It allowed me to cradle her and walk and talk and drink and was actually really comfy.

This morning we went on a hike through Saguaro National Park East from about 7:30-9:00am (aka before it gets freaking hot). DH and I each took a turn carrying her in our Kelty frame pack. I have to say I would have preferred the Ergo. It really wasn't too long of a hike and the frame pack is quite difficult to hike in because its so top heavy, it doesn't adjust down small enough for me, and she's always throwing her weight around up there. The only advantage is the shade from the sunshade and that it keeps her body heat up away from me. Considering it wasn't tooooo hot yet (was about 90 at the end) we probably would have been fine in the Ergo.

See, that is EXACTLY how I feel about our frame pack. And it doesn't even have a shade...its only advantage is the built in backpack. Not worth it!

Wore again today to the paper store! TGFBW :)
