Wow! Best of luck on the rest of your trip! Hope you're able to catch some sleep eventually.
Just did a couple of quick rucks today in the wrap to keep Aiden quiet.
We went up town for a markey day. I wore Ronin for the scarecrow parade and walking around the museum and a few other places, all up about an hour/ hour and a ahlf. He fell asleep while we were in the supermarket on my back. Now he won't got back to sleep.
Ooh, Mara! I didn't realize today was the big day! I hope is going well. Sleep, Beni, sleeeeeeep!
Glad things are going well so far Mara!!!! It's nice to have help and no need to rush.

Glad the trip is going well so far! Hope the trend continues....
We went for a long hike yesterday up to a place called Romero Pools. It's about a 5.5 mile roundtrip hike, and it's hot--there is NO shade until you get near the top--but once you get up there, there are a bunch of natural pools and waterfalls to swim in which is, of course, a real treat in the desert. Addy was a trooper and rode in the framepack all the way up and down the mountain, although she did walk for probably a quarter mile on the first part, which is flat. It was good to get her wiggles out. She had a blast playing in the COLD mountain water, and having a picnic lunch up there. Then she passed out for a short, late nap in the pack on the way down. Her head kept flopping over, though, and we had to keep stopping to fix it--kind of annoying. Still don't love the framepack, but it's comfy for DH, and it has a nearly fullsize backpack built into it, so we really needed the cargo--and water!--space for such a trek. She figured out how to drink out of DH's camelback, which was great, but now she needs her own--she drank nearly all of his water!
Also of note: Every--and I mean EVERY--person we passed said something along the lines of "You've got it made up there!" or "Room for one more?" or "Oh, I see...a RIDE. Must be nice!" or "You're a brave man!" It was cute at first, but after comment #40, it started getting a little old, I have to admit. Still, everyone was pleasant, and it was a very fun day.
Here's a pic from the parking lot heading out:
That sounds like a really fun day!
The only BWing today was while I was cooking dinner. I actually broke out a MT and used it in a back carry!
mara hope your trip was a success, glad to hear that they were taking care of you and gave you a ride for a tight stretch! crossing fingers for news that beni was good the rest of the way!
can't wait for scarecrow pics!
leigh sounds like a great day! too cute that she drank daddy's water! jade loves to drain her aunties bottle when she comes over so she got her own "auntie bottle" (brita bottle)
jackie lol somedays a wear is the only way to get anything done! makes me wish i had room for a playroom with a gate!
wore jade out for the hour round trip to the pet store, little monster only slept for 1/2 hour, after waking early today i was hoping for more, and of course now she's out cold at 5:20pm! tom could be fun NOT! stupid teething!
Mara I didn't get any. I asked hubby to take some, but the sun was bright and glary through the clouds and you can't see anything in them I do have one of him passed out on my back, just need to find the bluetooth dongle for the computer to get it off my phone
Wore Addy in the Ergo to get DH's birthday breakfast yesterday, but that was it. Still it was handy because we had to park kind of far away due to a street fair having everything closed off near the coffeeshop. When I put her back up to leave, a lady near us said "That's a neat contraption!" and I said "I don't know how anybody lives without them!" and a family with some slightly older kids nearby laughed knowingly. Love being in a BW-friendly town.
aw too bad about the pics glad you had fun though!
LOL i get stuff like that too, it's funny though because all these moms on the bus and at the malls talk about 'used too' their kids are smaller than jade and i have YET to see anyone else bw'ing around here in ages. especially with mall run busses you'd think there'd be more bw'ers knowing that you can only get so many strollers on the bus at once!
that in mind i walked jade to bus to a 'far far away' store today, usually sil drives but needed stuff now, 1 hour + bus each way, had lunch then wore her for walmart shop and bulk barn for bday supplies, bus home. my fav comment is still ppl that don't even see her there! they think i just have a regular backpack on, with her outside my jacket! um i would love a backpack that came with legs!!
