Wore Addy yesterday to walk from the thrift store across the street to the mall--it was such a beautiful day, it seemed totally ridiculous to get everyone all loaded into the car just to drive across the street!--which worked well. Then she demanded to get down and terrorize Old Navy, though, which was pretty annoying, but what can you do. Ended up finding everything we needed for DH's excursion into the jungle, though, plus a few cute things for Adair, so yay!
Wendy - I'd put the wrap/moby underneath with infant, and a SSC on top with toddler. The reason I'd put the SSC on top is because when the toddler wants to get down it's quick and you don't have to disturb the infant.
no wearing this weekend so far, but probably tomorrow.
I've heard about that Wendy! I'm definitely going to be tandem wearing at least at the grocery store. No way no how do I trust DS in the cart and he'll need to be worn that whole trip every week! lol. That's great you got to see some wovens.
I wore DS off and on at the zoo last Wednesday. Wore him again in my shorty woven Friday night for part my sister's graduation party. Haven't worn him since, but I've just spent the past two days catching up on rest and sleep because DS decided he didn't want to sleep while we were at my parents house for that week. *sigh* Not even babywearing worn him down for sleep after being awake for 15 hours!!!
I did wear her some this weekend too...a few places, including the zoo again (since we have a membership and it's 5 minutes from our house, it's my default for when we need to get out and I'm not feeling energetic or creative!)
Aiden climbs out of carts within seconds. Even pregnant with wearing not being as comfortable I'd rather wear than deal with the cart climber. Just means I move a bit faster and not take my time.
I broke out my long wrap and wore DS in a double hammock carry! Proud of myself for remembering how to do it without a video since it's been over a month since I've done this carry. I washed dishes and cleaned the kitchen counter top. And then my child cried when I took him down.
I'm lucky with groceries, Ronin has only ever tried to grab stuff off the shelf once and is pretty well behaved in the trolley, at least now he doesn't scream down the ailse at random people if they don't pay attention to him like he used to when he was younger. Going up town this morning but hubby will be with us so he will likely go on Daddy's shoulders rather than in a carrier. I'll wear him at the sustainability day tomorrow though at our local community gardens.
UGH. I wore at the grocery store today where we went to get airplane snacks (I thought it would be fun/smart to get a little bit of a lot of different things out of the bulk bins) and Addy chose to ride in the Ergo over the cart but then threw such a GINORMOUS fit over the stupid purple pretzels (they had colored yogurt covered ones--great idea right? Except for the "these are for four days from now" factor. Toddler + delayed gratification = meltdown). Anyway she was SCREAMING and hurling herself around back there so bad I nearly had to leave the store, and I couldn't do much to calm her down since I couldn't really see or control her, but I finally convinced her that getting in the cart was a fun idea that would make her feel better. It kind of did, after I bribed her by playing catch with every color of bath puff and some dog toys to play with while I shopped.
Yikes. At least later she chose the Ergo again at another store, and was happy when I told her she'd be riding in it at the airport.
Oh my! Aiden has stolen some interesting stuff while on my back, including a half gallon of milk once.
Wore Aiden in my ring sling yesterday walking around Lowe's. We usually do a tummy to tummy carry, just off to the side slightly. Yeah, in order for him to not be on my ever growing belly, I had to him him so high we were seeing eye to eye. Think it's time we do hip carries!!! With a deep enough seat his knees should be above the belly. I can handle a dangling foot. I've never been the biggest fan of hip carries because then that arm on that side is more limited. Time for me to get over it.
Wore Olivia at the zoo today at the beginning and end and she rode in the stroller and walked during the middle.
I also tried a ring sling on Friday! I HAVE to get one! Loved it for things like making dinner or quick store trips! Now, need to convince DH that I need it now! ha ha!
