That is seriously awesome! I so hate tummy time but did it with both kids because I thought you "should". Not going to (at least very often) with #3 when that time comes around! TFS!!
I'm glad I did tummy time with DS since we didn't do much regular wearing till he was 3 months, but this baby? Yeah, she'll be worn a ton more from the start. I'm sure she'll get some tummy time, but I won't make it a priority or stress about it at all.
This is awesome! I never did tummy time for DS because it didn't make sense to me. It didn't mesh with the best practices I learned getting my ECE degree. Plus he hated it so much it that I thought "If he is that uncomfortable why am I doing this?" He also reached all his physical milestones early so I figured I must be doing something right. I pretty much wore him or held him all the time until he started wanting to move around.
I love having my Mommy Instinct affirmed! TFS!
Great article...DD hated tummy time and I always thought it seemed kind of unnecessary too, since she was getting so much time to hold her head up and such while she was on me (even though we mostly did cradle position even while BW, she sat up on my lap a lot). I agree that it's always awesome to have your instincts confirmed!
Teagan was the weird baby that didn't really mind tummy time. Perhaps it was because I wore her so much?!
I think Adair hated it for the same reason she hated being carried parent-facing (and nursing)...she didn't want to look at the floor/your chest/your back/your boob, she wanted to SEE THE WORLD and would get very mad when you made that difficult in any way.
Nice! I've been trying to do tummy time for Kole at least once a day, since our pediatrician wants him to spend as much awake time as possible on his tummy. He hates it and gets really agitated really fast and then it takes some time to get him settled back down. I guess I'll stop worrying about it since he sleeps on his tummy a lot and I wear him. I don't wear him that much at home, but he gets held a lot and I wear him anytime we go out anywhere.
