Winter BWing

10 Tips for BWing in the Winter: http://www.hormonal-imbalances.com/2012/01/10-tips-for-babywearing-in-the-winter/

Cause let's face it, I'm in TX and have no personal experience with this! Hopefully this article helps those of you a bit farther north out!

Anyone on here have any winter BWing tips of your own?

I live in the Northeast. It's typically in the 20's and 30's during the winter here. I honestly do not BW much during this time of year because I'm not outside much and that tends to be when I BW.

I def. have trouble with the legs and the pants issue. We do wear layers, and if it's too cold and I need a heavy winter jacket I just don't BW honestly because then it means it's too cold to be outside for long anyway. I do often grab the carrier and put it on in the store/where I am going because it's too cold to fiddle with outside.

We go the lazy/weird-looking route --- I'll just zip one of SO's hooded sweatshirts over the whole carrier. But it isn't ever cold-cold in Portland.

My fleece Moby was a godsend in the winter here in the northeast. I would occasionally wear that and a big coat that I could zip around us both.

Mel, today it's been really cold for here (mid 30s for a high) and I totally did the grab baby and run inside (poor kid just has jackets, no coats ), and then put him up in the carrier once inside the store! Got a few strange looks, but it worked.

While visiting family in the NE this winter, I put baby legs on over her socks and then layered pants over them. If kept her ankles from being exposed.
