Hiya ladies. It's been forever! Life is just complete madness right now - with my job and the kids and all our appointments it's just crazy.
Ben has seen a GI a couple times over the past several months for his continuing reflux and regurgitation. PPI's and other traditional medications have not worked, even an adult dosage of Prevacid. He has elevated eosinophils, a form of white blood cell, that are often related to food allergy but not normally seen in the esophagus. So, he's having an gastroscopy and biopsy on Feb 7 to look for those white blood cells in the esophagus. This could very well be linked to his asthma and allergic rhinitis (remember he had his adenoid out 2 years ago?). If the biopsies are positive we'll have to undergo a battery of allergy testing and he could be put on an oral dose of steroid. He'll take the same steroid puffer but without the chamber so that the med goes into his mouth and not his lungs (he'll still need to inhale his daily steroid for the asthma maintenance). I'm quite shocked the test is so close. He was only at the GI on Tuesday and they called yesterday with the day surgery date. He'll be under a general anesthetic.
Claire has had no further UTIs or issues with her implants since her second surgery in Nov 11, so she's doing great. no other health issues at all, though we can't seem to keep up with the teeth she's losing! She's 5 and about to lose her 4th tooth with 2 more loose on the top. Crazy.
I am going to endeavour to read all your posts and catch up with everyone!
