We finally have a surgery date. November 27th. I was doing good all weekend. Today I'm extremely emotional. It's the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. My in-laws are leaving the Saturday after Thanksgiving (they can't change their plans). My DH is an only child and my closest family lives at least 2 - 2 1/2 hours away. We always do Black Friday and I think this year it will be good so we should have all our Christmas shopping done (except a couple gift cards for people). I'm just hoping my MIL will be okay with Thanksgiving at her house because I'm not going to want to with the surgery just days away.
(((hugs))) getting that official date isn't easy!!

Getting a date is bitter-sweet. As much as it's wonderful to know that something is finally going to get done that should help Eli, it's hard to face... HUGS! Remember that waiting is the toughest part. Lots of well wishes.

So I updated on FB. But the surgery itself went GREAT. Actually WAY better than they had hoped. They actually thought they were going to have a LOT of complications during the surgery for which there really weren't any. We did have some issues with the hospital itself which sadly has come to be expected. For one they gave him a med he wasn't suppose to have and his oxygen was only 88 and they WERE NOT GOING TO PUT OXYGEN ON HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm having a hard time getting past some of that. The dr that gave the med actually came to apologize and explain what happened. He also gave us a plan to prevent it in the future by listing it as an allergy even though the reaction is not really an allergic reaction AND he gave us some information that may help when we get him to an allergist to pinpoint what chemical is making him react while he has procedures done. Homecoming was difficult but I posted that on the Anything Topic board under the support post Missy posted. I'm just glad Dakota has school so he doesn't hurt Eli today.
Thanks for the update! Glad the surgery went better than expected. That's always good! Look forward to hearing more soon.
