Default Heath's surgery is in the am

Just a tonsillectomy but because of his Chiari history we will be staying overnight. The older kids are staying with my Dad.

They did the Tonsillectomy and had to redue the left Adenoidectomy (it grew back!!!) and then ENT did a scope of the ears and he had fluid. We went the proactive way because of his hearing issues and put another set of tubes in both ears. We stayed overnight and he is in a lot of pain but we are home now and eating soft cool foods.

Any food sugestions or how to get him to take the bitter tylone 3 would be awesome.

Glad he is at home now and hope the recovery is quick and easy! When Madi had her T&A she didn't eat much for about a week. I offered yogurt, JELLO, pudding, fruit, applesauce, and popsicles. Madi was only given Tylenol and an antibiotic but it was a pain to get her to take them. I ended up mixing them with a little juice and that helped some.

He has a temp of 99.5 and loves jello and baby jars of banana's, he is tired of apple sauce and keeps tossing other baby food flavors at me!!! He screams when I give him the meds . Today is day 3 and he just had a handful of gerber fruit puffs and they went down ok (about 20 min after meds) He lived on ice pops in the hospital but is not taking them now that we are home. I had mine out when I was 24 and cold things HURT so maybe that is it. I ate all room temp mushy foods for about 3 weeks.

On the mend but worried about the low grade temp.

If it gets over 100 I'd call the doc. Did they give him antibiotics?

I called today and was told it is ok at this point and it is the sign of mild dehydration. They said he did not need a Rx for other meds unless it got over 101 or his ears start to drain.

They didn't give you drops for his ears? It's standard procedure here for that since they normally drain afterward (Eli didn't but he doesn't do anything the way they say he should).

Madi had antibiotics before and after her surgery to prevent infection.
