UPDATE: They're keeping him here until Monday. He will be getting a PICC line and will be sent home on IV antibiotics. They are primarily concerned about redness and swelling around the incisions and fluid buildup around the hardware on the right side of his body.
I won't go into a lot of detail, but I took Isaiah to the ER because he was vomiting large amounts of solid (coagulated) formula. I was afraid he had a bowel obstruction. X-rays showed no blockage, but they admitted him. When we got here, his whole belly was swollen, but now the swelling is only on the left side around where his battery is inserted and where the wire goes up the abdomen. His head wound on that side is also swollen. It could be spinal fluid leaking out, but it could also indicate an infection, so they want to start him on 3 antibiotics and see if the swelling and redness improve. If they do, then we will know it's an infection. Between this and the sinus infection, the poor kiddo is miserable.
