Thank you for posting this Tanya. Joshua was having trouble holding his head up this morning, was wobbly, I put him down to walk and he couldn't do it. His balance was completely off and he was angry. It lasted probably about an hour and then he started to get better. We called our pedi's nurse line and she told us to go the children's emergency room. We went and got a room in the emergency department and he started doing a lot better. By lunch time he was walking and had complete motor control back. He has been great since then, aside from not being happy being in the hospital and having a needle stuck in his arm. They did bloodwork, urinalysis, and a ct scan. All of it came back normal. We went to a farm with a petting zoo and he rode a horse last night, so we were a little concerned something came from that but they weren't able to find anything. They said if he got bit by a tick then it would have come up in the bloodwork and it didn't. We are going to see neurology tomorrow, earlier they were thinking of a MRI, EEG & spinal tap, now that he has been fine the rest of the day they aren't thinking of doing any of that tomorrow as long as nothing changes. So if all goes well he will be going home tomorrow and if needed we can do those tests outpatient. Thanks again for posting.
We are home! The doctors conferred with the neurologist who said that there was no point in doing any other tests since he is doing well. We have to follow up with the neurologist and pediatrician. They said if it happens again to video tape it. We should have a video of him normally (we already do) as well so they can compare. They said that all the serious problems he would not have bounced back so quickly so they are relieved that he did. They said it could have been as simple as a virus, they don't know for sure if he had a seizure but it is an excellent sign that he bounced back so quickly.
I'm so glad that he's doing better! I can't think of anything more stressful than when our child is in the hospital. By the way, my name is Anne and I'm new to the board. I'll pray that Joshua continues to do well. I hope you're doing ok handling the stress.
I'm glad he bounced back so quickly! How scary!!! (((hugs))) Take care of yourself - the post-stress sort of relief can really be overwhelming while you sit there going through all of the what-ifs, even if you know they didn't happen.

I saw on FB just just wanted to give you some hugs xx
Glad he's better now
Did I mention that Sunday at the hospital I dropped Joshua's iPad on my foot? Yeah then I spent the rest of the day hobbling around and I must have pulled a muscle in my right calf as it's been hurting all day. DH stayed at the hospital with Joshua overnight since I told him with my foot the way it was if I needed to get up quickly I might not be able to, wouldn't want anything else to happen and he was in a bed rather than a crib there so we had the sides up but still anything can happen. He did bump his head sometime (I don't remember it happening when I was there) probably on one of the rails so now he has a nice pink mark right between his eyes.
