Wahoo! You are almost there. I can't wait to read your story!
Yay!! A lodge!! You are almost there Amber.
Yay!! Thanks ladies!! I'll add my intro tomorrow!
congrats on your lodge...can't wait to hear your story!
Yay! Welcome to your lodge! I love seeing all the January mamas here!
Welcome! I look forward to following your lodge:)
Okay, heres my intro: (copied from another site)
My Dh John and I have been married for almost 4years. We met working together about 7 years ago and were engaged about 2 years later, then married the year after that. It took us 23 months and lots of medical intervention to have Jacob. My pregnancy with Jacob was high risk because of a past surgery on my cervix. I was told I'd be lucky if I carried him to 20 weeks, but he was born on his due date and was perfect in every way!! I was induced because of his size. The labor itself was not too bad, but I did end up pushing for almost 3 hrs, and he had to be vacuum extracted at the end. After the delivery however, I was hemorrhaging very badly, and things got a bit ugly. The worst part was not seeing my baby for several long hours. I got to hold him for a few minutes, then things got nutso.
This pregnancy has been interesting to say the least. Aside from the TIA around 24weeks, everything has gone pretty well. I am looking forward to a birth with no or little medical intervention. I am praying that I go into labor on my own and dont have to be induced. As of last week, I was 2cm, 30% effaced and very soft, so I am hoping that is a good sign.
At my appt this week, I was still only 2cms, but I was 70% effaced, which is progress. No rush though because there are several more weeks to go!!
Here are some pics....
This is me and DS Jacob on Halloween

Here is our furry baby Brutus...
Hope you get a better birth this time. Sounds like you are on your way with plenty of time left.
I am so excited for your lodge! Great intro and pics!
Welcome to your lodge!
Pardon the obvious tangent, but what happened to poor Brutus's foot?
Welcome to your lodge!
Pardon the obvious tangent, but what happened to poor Brutus's foot?
hahaha!! That was an old pic from last year. He had a growth on his foot about the size of a quarter. It grew really fast and the vet was afraid it was a tumor, so we had is removed. He is health as an ox now. He's my wild child.
Here's some better pics of him without a cast
great intro! I love seeing all the pics.
I am a little late to the party here, but welcome to your lodge!!!
Today has been crazy busy like every weekend it seems....I am jones-in for a lazy weekend. I have been crampy and contracting for days, so I hope this is all doing something productive
Dh's family is flying in starting tonight till Friday, so bring on the stress. They drive me nuts. I just want to spend a quiet, laid back Christmas with Dh and Jacob, so I hope that works out. We are having Christmas eve with my family, so that will be fun in the midst of the chaos.
I know what you mean, it has felt SO busy to me lately too. So much to do and so little time.
Sorry your in-laws will be around to add to the chaos. I guess just try and relax and have fun if you can. Hopefully they all understand you are about to have a baby and will give you a break! I love my in-laws but I could not deal with a bunch of people in my house right now. Dh and I are on the other side of the country from our familiies and obviously we are not traveling that far this year, so we're having a nice quiet holiday season to ourselves, now that all the shopping and wrapping and package-mailing is finally done.
DH's family always seems to come in and take over huh? Hopefully you will get a little downtime in while they are here. At least they can entertain Jake!
Sorry the ILs are invading. We told our families that we wanted to spend Christmas alone since they're all coming to visit when the baby arrives. I hope they help out and cook and clean for you while they're there.
Unfortunately, they consider themselves guests, and expect to be waited on, but on a posistive note, they are visiting lots of people, so hopefully they will be out and about. Dont get me wrong, I like see them, but its just that right now, I have no desire to cater to anyone but Jacob. It will be nice for Dh to have his whole family around for Christmas though, so I'm thankful for that.
It is snowing this morning! Its so pretty! I hope it snows enough for Jacob to go play in.
Hope you get some downtime. I am glad dh's fam is coming after xmas.
Err, that sounds stressful! I hate it when people don't help out!:(
Try to get some rest when you can though!
It is snowing here too...I LOOOVE it!!! Soo pretty!
Personally I can't understand expecting a woman who is 9 months pregnant to wait on you, guest or not. I'd feel like I should be waiting on HER, especially if I were staying at her house. It's good they will be out and about, and that should give you some downtime. I hope you don't have to do too much! Maybe they will surprise you and be helpful.
Somehow I'm late jumping in here. My own birth buddy and I haven't even welcomed you yet.
well, WELCOME TO YOUR BIRTH LODGE!!! I hope your Christmas isn't too stressful for you. Lock yourself in your room if you have to in order to get away from the hostess duties.
I have been sleeping pretty well lately, but last night, not so much. I was so sick to my stomach, and had horrible heartburn. I think I tossed and turned most of the night, and everytime I turned, I would get shooting pains in my vjay...LOL Sorry TMI. It felt like I pulled a muscle down there!
When my alarm went off at 4:30am I wanted to throw it.
I made a cup of tea once I got to work and am feeling better now. I hope this day flys...
Ah, 37 weeks tomorrow!!
Sorry about the rotten sleep. That's why I'm up posting right now. This phase of pregnancy doesn't lend itself to sleeping, does it.
I hope your work day goes by quickly. And yay for almost being full-term!
I know. Dh is off the rest of the week, so maybe I can catch a quick 30 mins nap when I get home.
Hope you get some sleep, I was up super early again this morning too, Good sleep is hard to come by these days.
Nothing very exciting going on here. I have been having cramps and low back pain since yesterday morning, but I think its just my body getting things in order. I'm thinking I still have a few more weeks to go.
I slept great last night! It was wonderful. I ate like 4 tums and went to bed early. I woke up to pee about 4 times, but I still slept good.
Full term today!!
Congrats on being full term! That must be a good feeling. Send some of those good sleep vibes my way, please!
Maggie, I hope you get some rest too!! My hips have been hurting the last few days, so I have been doing some extra stretches before bed and that has helped a lot. Dh and I took Jacob to Hershey Park last night and walked a few miles. I was so exhausted that I slept like a log from 11pm to 4:30am when my alarm went off. I didnt even get up to pee!!
On a non related note. After Jacob went to bed last night, we watch Hancock. That was pretty cute, but the ending was a little weak.
I'm so excited!! Our director just told us we can leave at noon!! I only work 3 days a week, so that means at noon I'm done for 4 days! Woohoo!
Yay for full term....and for getting out early. Ryan is on his way home too. He got out early! I guess it is a Christmas Eve thing!
So what are your plans for Christmas?
Yay for an early out!
We do have plans. Tonight my family came over and we opened presents and had dinner. My parents are staying the night so they can see Jacob open his presents in the morning. Then we are having breakfast and they are leaving around noon. After they leave we are heading to Dh's family for presents and dessert in the late afternoon.
Its been a busy week, so I am looking forward to having a laid back morning tomorrow. Plus we are only doing dessert at Dh's sisters house so we dont have to stay too long.
Jacob got some really nice stuff tonight. It was so funny watching him open presents!
My parents got me a new printer that does everything!! I am so excited...mine broke the other month.
I am having crazy contractions tonight from being on my feet all day. I'm about to put my feet up and relax!
Full term, full term!
I had my 37 week appt today. Nothing exciting going on. I'm still 2cm and now I'm 80% effaced. The baby is doing great and has a strong HB. I saw a doctor I dont usually see and I wasnt pleased. She literally opened my chart and said "Lets see if we can find any reasons to get you induced!". I was FLOORED! I told her I was in no rush what so ever and that induction is the last thing I want. She said, "well then you know you have to wait till 41 weeks".
I told her I understood that and was absolutely fine with it. I explained that I wanted to do things natural and I'm going to wait to see if he comes on his own.
She was nice, but I couldnt believe she was going to look for a reason to induce me!
On another note, I spoke to her about how sick I have been for the past few weeks and how I have trouble eating and keeping things down. She suggested Pepcid AC (?) and said to start it today and if I am not feeling better by Monday to call. I have been losing weight, so I think they just want to check and make sure the baby is doing okay.
SO all in all, things are going well. All the family has left town and today is a veg day!! I'm excited to spend on one on one time with Dh and Jacob.
yay for a veg day. Really, why is everyone in such a rush to induce these days? Glad they didn't find a reason.
That is bizarre about the OB. Hummm....interesting comment. Maybe she thought you *wanted* her to say that?
I am glad you are getting a veg day with DH. You need it!
I was taking to the receptionist about it (we know each other) and she said that they get tons and tons of requests for inductions especially this time of the year (tax ded.), so I think thats why the doctor asked. It was just weird to actually look for a reason. I wouldnt have done it if she found one however. If I was 40+ weeks it would be one thing, but I still have a few more weeks to bake. I cant wait to meet him, but I am also trying to spend some quality time with Jacob before he comes.
That's crazy that she said that! I would love to have our baby in time for the tax deduction, but I'm not willing to induce to make that happen. It boggles my mind when people induce for non-medical reasons.
I'm glad you guys have some quiet time to recover from the holidays and the company.
Glad everything is going well.
That is a strange thing for a doc to say! I mean, seems like she would want to talk to you a little and find out where your feelings were before just putting it out there like that.
I was just thinking today how baffling it is that everyone gets induced, it seems like. I am not judging, really (OK, I kind of am, but mostly because I just don't get it), but so confused by how so many people on our BB have induction dates already, even people who are at only 36 or 37 weeks. I just don't really get why, if there are no problems and you haven't even reached your due date yet.
Ugh, I just typed this whole big response and hit next thread instead of submit.
Anyone, I hope all the inductions turn out for the best, but it is still scary. I wish them the best.
I'm bored so I took a belly pic since I havent taken one since 32 weeks.
Excuse the lovely pink night gown, but its the comfy.
Love the nightgown You look great!
I know, I know, sexy isnt it! I am not a nightgown person, but it is so freakin comfy right now. I hate wearing anything around my stomach, because it feels so uncomfortable. I got that ugly nightie for after the baby comes and I have been wearing it already! LOL Dh cant keep his hands off me. Just joking!
Today nothing exciting going on. I had a good bit of bloody show yesterday and then some more this morning, but nothing since then. Only a few conx here and there. I think Mr. Man is going to hold out for a few more weeks.
Okay, off to do laundry, change Jacob stinky butt and walk the dog....I swear I live the life of a movie star.
The bloody show sounds like a good sign!
I think you look pretty cute in your nightie. You're all belly!
Sure you are Amber. Sure you are.
