Woot!! Thanks Em, and thanks everyone!!

Amber, the time is flying by like madness! I remember being addicted to TOC over a year before I even started TTC. And now here I am with a lodge! My very own lodge!

Here is my intro:

I met DH Greg just over 8 years ago. He went to high school with my twin sister who introduced us. A few months after meeting we started dating and immediately fell in love. He proposed a few years later and after a long engagement we were married in September of 2006.

I like this pic cause you can see a bit of my 'Something Blue', my crinoline, peeking out under my dress.

and one more because I wanted to point out my beautiful twin sister Emily (Emilys2Guppies) standing right of me, and Ariana (MamaArty_RMT) who is on the far left of the picture. Both knocked up and due this year too! (Our younger sister Alison is the other dark haired gal between me and Arty. She's currently engaged and hopefully will be sucked into pg.org world soon and start popping out kids with us!)

I had been secretly hoping to get pregnant for the months leading up to our wedding, however since I was a really good, faithful FAM user, it didn't happen. lol. We started officially TTC in May of 2007. Got my first bfp ever on August 3, 2007 at 10DPO.

Only 3 cycles. Phew! EDD of April 17th 2008. We knew right away we wanted the sex to be a surprise and are proud members of Team Green!

The first few months of pregnancy treated me really well. Mostly just fatigue, nausea and heartburn from h-e-double hockeysticks. Nothing I couldn't really handle. Beginning in December 2007 though, I developed costochondritis, which pretty much rules my life now. Inflammation of the tissues between my ribs. It hurts like a b!tch and I plan my days around it really. So far nothing has helped relieve it, but I can live with it, and hopefully it will go away once the babe is out.

I left work as assistant manager of a spa, and esthetician, at 34wks for my mat leave which I am enjoying now. Greg is a paramedic who loves to tell his co workers, and the doctors and nurses he sees daily, that we are planning a homebirth with midwives. His favourite part is talking about the birthing tub we have rented. I think he is more excited about it than I am. I have been casually studying Hypnobabies in preparation aswell. I don't think I am as commited to it as I had initially envisioned, but I do enjoy doing scripts and find they are immensely relaxing. I just like to keep my options open. If it were to 'not work' for some reason or other, I wouldn't want to feel like I failed, so I am trying to keep an open mind about it and study up on other techniques for pain relief aswell.

As far as little details go...my BIL is living with us right now but is moving out ASAP. Hopefully this is the last I post about this drama that has had me running ragged the past few weeks. Argh. I live just a few houses away from my mom, and a few more houses down from my sister Em. Both Emily and mum will be joining me once I hit my birthing time, along with my MIL and of course, Greg who is completely pumped for it. He's like a giddy little kid, seriously. He's gonna be a great daddy and told me the other day that he "can't wait to bring another little person into this world" with me. lol!! So cute.

I have my next appt, incl. my GBS test this coming Thursday morning. Woohoo! Lol

Thanks for reading!!!

My BIL and I had a fun photoshoot the weekend before last. He took over 200 photos. He's still working on editing most of them, these are ones he wasn't going to do anything to, so he sent them my way tonight:

I had my 36wk appt today and my mw was concerned with the levels of fluid surrounding the baby. I have to admit, I have been able to feel each little limb and every movement feels very pronounced to me. But being a first time mom, I assumed that was normal. Our student had a feel around and asked my mw to see what she thought. Carolynn had a feel around and asked if it would be okay to have another mw in for a second opinion. The second mw at the clinic (Jasmine) agreed and said it does feel quite low, however it is a good sign that I still feel active movement.

Carolynn suggested we could either wait and see what another week brings or I could go in for an ultrasound to measure. She also told me that she hasn't recommended an ultrasound for this reason in a very long time. I'm not worried about the baby really, it moves around like a little champ all day long. I get great kicks and wiggles still and I just have a good feeling.

I didn't really expect this kind of thing to crop up, so if anyone has experience with it, or advice I'd love to hear it. Carolynn said sometimes if the level is extremely low babies are better on the outside than the inside. I trust her, but I do want to get some more opinions, and of course, see what this u/s has to say. I'd prefferably like to go for another one next week to double check before agreeing to anything else.

***************
In other news, my home visit appt is next week, which I'm excited for. Woot!! Nothing else really new though... Smile

So you are going for the ultrasound then? I don't have much knowledge with this, but my totally unmedical professional advice is to drink, drink, drink up!!

I'm hoping this is just a fluke and everything is ok!

Yup...she's at an ultrasound right now for a AFI check and a biophysical profile.

Thanks guys! Everything turned out just fine according to the u/s tech and my mw. Fluid levels look normal (I'm going to ask just what number that means at my next appt). Evidently my fat baby just likes to be snuggled in as tight as possible and take up as much space as it can. Smile

I'm relieved. I will still be pounding back the water intake since it can't hurt really. I'm just glad all looks good to go with my homebirth. Phew!

Hi Jordan! So excited to see your lodge. Seems like you married yesterday (I remember the photos in the TOC board) and getting a BFP. Congrats! Sorry about the costochondritis. That totally sucks. And I'm glad the AFI was fine. Are you still doing Hypnobabies?

I am sorta doing hypnobabies. I listen to it, but I really feel kind of unattached to it. I do enjoy it, and I feel very relaxed and LOVE the affirmations script at night. I guess just lately, I feel like it might not be what gets me through my delivery. I don't know how to explain it. I like it as an option for sure, but I just can't commit to it for some reason.

I had a hard time accepting that at first actually. I have only heard such great things about it. And I really do love it. So when I finally decided that rather than giving myself a hard time about not being able to fully engage myself in the scripts, I'd just enjoy listening to them and go with the flow. If I can use any of it during the birth, I'm sure I will.

Just now checking in with your lodge!

Love your wedding pics and those belly pics are awesome! You don't even look pregnant from the back and not a muffin-top in sight over those maternity jeans! WTG, momma!

Also, I didn't know you and Emilys2guppies were sisters although I knew she and Ariana were close. So cool that you all know each other! ::jealous::

So, tomorrow I have the okay for a homebirth. I'm pumped for it. Although, our birth tub isn't delivered until April 3. So I gotta at least hold the baby in until then. I'll only be 38+2 at that point, so no biggie. I'm sure I'll go til at least 41+?

Possibly TMI here, but probably not:

I've been noticing globby hunks of what can only be plug, I'm assuming. It's too much to be normal CM (also cause I haven't had any CM since the beginning of this pgcy). It's not giant hunks, but enough to make me go 'woah! that's odd!' I pretty much have to pick it out of my undies and inspect it before I set it free in the potty. Lol

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the EPO I have been taking. I started taking 1000mg orally and 500mg vaginally/day at 36weeks. I know it's supposed to soften the cervix, and I guess I didn't even think of that little plug in there. Also, I've been taking advantage of my wifely rights lately, if you know what I mean. DH is being put to the test almost worse than when we were TTC. Poor guy. This whole pregnancy thing has taken a lot out of him physically.

So...if my plug has decided to evacuate, it's still fine to go ahead with dtd, as long as my BOW is intact, correct? I hear this little plug regenerates anyway, true?

Ummm, you've been taking advantage of poor Ree? It's probably some of his Man Serum left over. LOL. Talk about TMI. Hahahaha!!!

If you are starting to lose part of your plug (which it does sound like you are) you most likely will not regenerate it at this point. You are to the point now where your cervix probably is beginning to efface and dialate (which is why you may be losing some plug) and if that is happening, then this could be it for the plug. SO, you better hope that birthing pool arrives soon because you very well could go into labor anytime within the next couple weeks!! However, it's not like the whole thing is gone yet. You are perfectly fine to continue your wifely rights as long as your BOW is intact. Smile
