thanks everyone! i am totally addicted to this little girl. i want to write up her birth story but i need two hands to do a proper job of it and i just can't put her down!

had her first pedi visit today and all's well. a bit of jaundice but nothing a little naked time in a sunny window won't fix. got the clamp off her stump which is nice, and then we took her over to meet her great grandma. now we're all pooped and planning on a nap in a few minutes (she has a head start )

More pics and full story coming soon...

No birth story yet, but we're doing well and I wanted to post a couple of new pictures. My milk came in and nursing is going great (she's a little fiend for it, and the soreness is getting better already). Had her follow up ped visit today and she's back to gaining weight, so everything is looking good.

Anyway, here's a little cuteness to share. Story soon...

Oh, she's just too beautiful! No wonder you're all blissed out on her. Glad to hear nursing is going well. How is co-sleeping going for you? You had the crib set up right next to your bed, right? Is that working, or do you just have her in the bed with you? Or, is there much sleeping at all going on?

funny you should ask. i figured out last night that she sleeps much longer stretches in bed with me than in the crib. i was only getting 20 minute sleeps between nursing with her in the crib the past couple of nights, seriously. it was brutal. but in the bed she'll give me a couple of hours at a time. ( i think a lot of her fussing was really a need to cuddle, not actually nurse due to hunger again) i'm not fighting it! cosleeping is actually a lot less scary and uncomfortable than i thought it would be. i kind of love having my little sweetness snuggled up with me all night, even though i've had to change some lifelong positioning habits on my part. totally worth it.

on the other hand i still would recommend the sidecar setup. it's still nice to have the extra space as an option, and to keep all the stuff at hand (burp cloths, my nursing pillow, etc) and to put her in occasionally if I really need to.

She is such a doll! I'm so glad that nursing is going well. LOL, I found that out too about cosleeping with my 1st DS. It took me like a week to figure out but so much easier. That side car with the extra room and security has to be really nice indeed. After being a part of you the last 40 weeks of course she wants to be snuggled up next to you. I'm sure you feel the same too!
