Congratulations on your lodge, Lisa. Your pictures and birth stories are wonderful!
Lisa, I was in tears just reading about the vows from Michael to Kevin. What a great husband! And father!
I had no idea the birth with your twins was so traumatic (I wasn't around the BN board yet). But I think it's great you stuck to your guns and made the opportunity to have the vaginal birth.
And I love the honesty of how you felt with with the homebirth. I visualize everyday what the birth for #2 is going to be like. But if I let myself dwell on it, sometimes I worry that I just might not be able to live up to my own expectations. And that scares me. Having never had a vaginal birth either, the whole process is going to be new. Your story inspired me.

Yay! Congrats on your lodge Lisa! I love all your stories, they are so moving.
Congratulations, Lisa-another lodge!! Each of your birth stories is so different, I can't wait to see how this little guy makes his entrance for you. I hope it's a fantastic experience for your whole family.
If only you updated here as much as your blog
WE WANT BELLY PICTURES! Lots and LOTS of belly pictures. And kid pictures. And birth plans. POST LADY!!!
So yesterday afternoon dh "allowed" me the afternoon to myself (we usually spend the weekends vollying the kids back and forth). I took the twins to dance class in the morning, then Michael took Joey to swimming, and then I said "See ya" and didn't look back for about 5 or 6 hours. I got my nails done and a pedicure Then I went to the bookstore and picked up a couple books I've been wanting (have I mentioned that I LOVE to read? Oh, and one of the books I got was A Midwife's Tale - it's the diary of a midwife from 100 or 200 years ago - has anyone read it?), and then I headed to another salon across town and got my eyebrows threaded and a henna belly tattoo.
I've never even had my eyebrows waxed - well, I tried to do it myself a while back but there were no noticeable results except wax all over my clothes and the bathroom Anyhow, has anyone had threading done? It was really cool! They use this twisted cotton thread and pull the hairs out with it - I have no idea how they can be so precise with something like that, but it barely stung and my eyebrows look fab, if I do say so myself
It was an Indian salon, and the same girl who did my eyebrows did my belly tattoo. She was this young, beautiful Indian girl, and she was pregnant herself, with her first baby. Anyhow, she really didn't speak much english, so I didn't get clear instructions on how to care for it and I think now that I didn't leave the paste on long enough. After about 3 hours it was dry and itching like crazy so I flaked it all off and the stain I was left with was pretty light. It got somewhat darker overnight, but it's still only a light brown Oh well, she only charged me $12 (!!), so I can't complain too much. The best photo I got was right there in the salon with my camera phone while the paste was still on, and I am trying to figure out how to get that photo onto my computer, so hopefully I'll post it later.
In the meantime, here is the progression of my belly pics for this pregnancy. I'll get pics of my kids posted later, as well as a couple of the birth plans I've used in the past, as requested Taryl
