After pains would be belly binding, hot pad, and ibuprofen in this house! Mine were pretty awful after Lilah's birth, nursing really made them kick up for a few weeks.
So the saga continues! Ugh.. i swear my life is all about drama lately. Well we had a good first night baby slept like a champ but wouldn't nurse at night but went to town at it this morning. so I get up and moving around a bit and I call my OB to say hey i had baby what do I do now. They told me to go to L&D at the hospital I was supposed to go to. Well i hang up and get up to tell DF what we need to do and my phone rings with a local number that i dont know so I answer it thinking maybe it was the docs office again calling to tell me to go somewhere else. No, it was a cop that was told of a homebirth and that they needed to check to make sure that there was "no foul play" going on. umm ok.. they showed up a minute later.. couldn't have been more than a block away. Appearently someone or rather 3 people (at least) called CPS because I didn't go to the hospital. (i guess from posting on facebook). So they come in and get our story and look around and they're all praising Dan for how great he did "delivering" the baby. but everything was fine and they left just wanted me to get us both checked up. They were concerned about hip disocia (sp?) that is common in breech births i guess. While they were there the doc did call back saying to go to ER since he was over 24 hours old.
So off to ER we went. Spent the rest of the day there.. ugh.. They gave him all the newborn crap and did some blood draws and it was long and frustrating but after all the CPS stuff that morning I didn't really want to fight them too much. I wanted the Vit K since he was bruised. but wasn't thrilled with the eye goop but its not a big deal i suppose. otherwise it was alright.. So in ER he weighed in at 5kg which they said translated to 11 lbs.. he's had 3 meconium diapers so far at that point. We had a room full of students and docs as they heard what happened.. lol..
I got some cream for my hemmhroids and they said i didn't need stitches at all so that was good! I couldn't get to sleep til 3am from them hurting so bad.
Fun part is Aria has dental surgery tomorrow morning. We have to be there at 6 am and yes I have to go to sign the admit papers or whatever its called.

Sound like the police did their job well. It could have been worse. At least they were understanding. ER is always a hassle from my point of view. Takes up so much time and they are not very open about what they are doing and why. It is unusual when they work WITH you, but then again, they have a very tough time with all sorts of unusual people and circumstances.
All in all, baby is doing well and I hope your HEM situation improves quickly. I hope things go smoothly for your daughter tomorrow! AND, I hope you get some sleep tonight!

WHAT?! SOMEONE CALLED CPS?!?!?! Any idea who it was? I'm so sorry you had to deal with that I'm glad the police didn't give you a rough time about it though.
Yay for a good check-up for both of you I bet you were the talk of the ER and L&D LOL Was Trystan checked by a pedi? Can you get him seen by the same pedi for check-ups etc?
GL tomorrow! Hope everything goes well, and that Friday you can just REST!
11 lbs! That is awesome!
I can't believe anyone called cps....some people! Glad that the police were respectful and did their job well. Good luck tomorrow at the dentists.

Oh no to having to deal with the CPS junk this morning. What a shame. I guess they were just doing their job and I'm glad that the cops were respectful and not trying to have confrontation. ER is no fun and I'm so sorry you had to be there so long. GL tomorrow with DD's dental stuff.

Okay, this is funny in a holy sh!t we have actually gotten to a point in society that having a baby at home by yourself requires a visit from COPS!!!! I've read actual accounts from other countries not all that long ago of moms working out in the fields, giving birth, wrapping up the baby, throwing him or her on their back and going back to work. It sounds like they were respectful, but still....
I love the birth story! Congratulations!!!
Wow, I didn't know pushing a baby out of your vagina was a criminal act. I am glad it all turned out ok for you. And, he is beautiful
