    Wow Audra, what a whirlwind.

    Congratulations on your sweet baby girl!! How wonderful that your mom was there to take pictures, check you and be there for you but am so sad for you and Trey and for how the doctors behaved, & that everything happened faster than you were prepared for. I imagine there will be a lot to process, be gentle with yourself. I remember the rush of emotions I had with Isabelle's fast 3.5hr birth ~ I loved that it was fast and not too painful but the speed is sometimes hard to process.

    ((giant hugs)) for you my friend.

    I came on here from FB hoping for a birth story. YAY!!!! I am so glad that the little girl is here and nursing so well. Sounds like a super super fast birth, but it seems as though all went well. I am glad that your mom and MIL were there for you I am so sorry Trey missed it

    Congrats on your little sweetie! I am so sorry that Trey missed it! So I read correctly right, you basically had a UC? Pretty cool. Either way, congrats Mama!

    Wow big congrats to you Audra! I'm so sorry that Trey missed it and how bad the doctors were to you both. I hope Trey is feeling better soon! It does sound like a great birth though. Those fast labors are really overwhelming, my third was 2 hours. Get some rest and glad both your mom and MIL are there to help. Happy Babymoon!!

    I'm so glad that you got home and were in a loving & supportive environment for your baby's birth. It sucks that DH wasn't there, but at least you had him with you in spirit and on the phone during the whole thing. And that was great that you left the cord for him to cut! My DH wasn't even aware that Tiven had been born until almost five minutes later, and he was standing in the hallway right outside the OR. They asked if he wanted to cut the cord and he said, "You guys already did that, and she's 25 feet away from her mother, what's the point of cutting more off that stump now?"

    ITA with Chimmy that you're probably going to have a lot of processing to do with this birth. Take your time with it, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Helping women deal with their not-quite-ideal births is part of my "job" with ICAN.

    More hugs, get some rest, and have a wonderful babymoon! Congrats!!!!

    Congrats, my friend! WTTW, baby girl.

    I am so sorry things didn't work out quite as planned for the birth. I am sure you and Trey both have sadness (and anger) over it. But I am so glad you had her at home and Trey was able to listen over the phone (and cut the cord). Much love to you all. {hugs}

    I think you are to be congratulated for finding personal touches to a situation where the medical profession almost conspired against you. Of course Trey's situation is serious and I do not fault them for being super attentive to that. Birth by speaker phone: later THAT will be something to look back on with a big smile!!! I'm so glad he got to cut the cord.
    Yes, it will take processing, but really, I think you handled it so well and that Trey will enjoy sharing these photos together the most.

    Wow, that was some birth story. I'm so sorry that Trey wasn't there, but am glad you had your mom and mil to help. At least you got pics and Trey got to listen on teh phone. I can't wait to see the pics. Honestly I almost expected you to give birth in his hospital room when the docs adn nurses weren't looking.

    I've been following the last couple of days here from afar. I can't believe what you've been through! Congratulations on a sweet, healthy little girl! Sounds like you handled things amazingly well, considering the circumstances. My mom has Crohn's and has had more surgeries and hospital admissions than I can count - so I can understand that side of it. How awful for your DH to be feeling so ill at such a happy time. I'm sorry he missed the birth. I hope you and he both have smooth recoveries, and that you are able to process this birth in time.

    You are one amazing mama!
