Oh such great and detailed birth stories Audra!!!
Your HB sounds truly amazing! I wish you another wonderful HB with this new little girl![]()
What awesome stories! You are awesome for standing strong and doing a natural hospital birth, but your homebirth story was truly amazing. I hope this birth is also a great homebirth.

We had kind of a rainy weekend, so we had lots of time at home. Yesterday, I let the kids paint my belly. The girls had so much fun. Thought I'd share their work.
Taya went first. She is 5 1/2 and wanted to paint my belly like a watermelon (she heard someone say that I had swallowed one joking....)
(she is wearing her soccer uniform bc she had a game and about 15 mardi gras necklaces bc they were playing dress up....ahh, life with girls!)
Taya's finished product-- a watermelon, the sky with clouds and dirt underneath. She also painted a guy holding the melon on the side....lol.
Then it was Callie's turn. She will be 4 in June and is perhaps the most excited member of the family. She cannot wait for this baby (and has always been baby nuts....seriously.)
She was very careful and very thorough.....and very gentle. She wanted to know if the baby could feel it and baby was kicking like mad which Callie loved. She started with a face, but then went abstract on me.
And then today we did the practice run with my birth pool. Last time we had some malfunctions with pipes/connections-- so I wanted to make sure we were set to go this time. So we inflated the tub and Trey filled it up to time how long it would take and how much water we'd need. We figured since it was full of water that we'd let the kids play--
A rare treat-- swimming in mom and dad's bedroom.
We were joking that Miles was having flashbacks to his own birth-- he was having so much fun in the water.
Welcome to your lodge Audra!!! I'm so excited for you![]()
