Had a VERY long moving day yesterday getting my classroom unpacked/organized and wrapped up for the end of the year. Being on my feet gives me a lot of braxton hicks recently. I had to sit down for most of the evening because I kept having them. We got a ton accomplished in my room, so hopefully today (my last day) goes fairly smoothly. There is still a lot to get finished. Daemon is starting to feel better thank goodness! Thanks for all the well wishes. MW is coming over this afternoon after work for an appt. I'll KUP afterwards.
Last day of work is over!!! I want to in the next few days during D's naps finish up my long term sub plans for the beginning of the school year, so I don't have to worry about them after baby comes.
My appt. went well. Baby's HR sounded good with nice accelerations when she touched my belly. He is definitely head down. She did a cervical check and she felt his head. She said I'm about 1 cm. and my cervix is thin. Belly is measuring 37 1/2. We still have a ton of last minute things to do. My car needs some work done on it. The AC is working intermittently. Last time my car was in the shop for work on it I had DS, so maybe that will happen again. I need to dig the car seat out of the spare room, adjust the straps, and get it checked after we install it. I also need to get food/drink for birth. I think I'm going to make a big pot of soup and freeze it. I'm also going to get a big frozen lasagna. The upstairs needs a deep cleaning. We did the downstairs, but haven't made it up there yet. I still have some energy left, so now is the time to do it.
Daemon is so cute. We have been talking a lot about the new baby. Making it part of our everyday conversation. I brought a small baby doll home the other day and gave it to him. He was so sweet calling it baby and patting it saying nice. I also have him some receiving blankets. He disappeared for a few minutes.... I have the bassinet set up in the office, since I just put it together the other day and haven't had a chance to bring it upstairs. He had run back into the office to put the baby to bed. He even covered the baby with the blanket. I couldn't believe he had made the connection.
How detailed are you getting for your sub? Just a general curriculum with certain benchmarks to be covered or full on daily/weekly plans? I am doing a totally different program next year--SRA Read to Achieve, so I'm picking out which lessons and activities to focus on and which to skip, but I don't want to spend all this time working while on leave either.
We are required to leave 2 weeks worth of plans and then they are supposed to take over the planning for the remainder of the job. Since it is the beginning of the year I have to include week 1- setting up the classroom (this is the most lengthy part since there are so many components in an early childhood classroom with all of our learning centers) and week 2-parent teacher conferences (again very detailed so she knows exactly which forms need to get filled out and what they are for/where to put them) Week 2 also includes staggered entrance of kids so she will have 3 days with students 7 each day. Week 3- she will have all 21 students and she will plan week 3 with my pre-k teammates. I am being detailed because most of it is written already. I was out the same time of year 2 years ago when my son was born. I have lots of updating to do to the plans since I have a new room and some curriculum/procedures have changed since then.
Writing sub plans is a ton of work, which is why I want to get them out of the way now before baby. How long are you required to leave plans?
That is really cute about DS putting the baby to bed! So sweet. Yay to getting everything packed up. That is a lot of sub. plans to get ready. Nice that you have some of it done from your last mat. leave. I dread being out just based on having to make sub. plans as they take forever to get ready.

Feeling overwhelmed today with all that I still want done before baby arrives. On top of that I'm not feeling well today. Flu like symptoms: headache, sore throat, some congestion, achy all over, some diarrhea. Maybe that means baby is coming soon. I remember with DS I felt under the weather a few days before he came.
So we got some stuff done with the house that needs to get done today, but not as much as I would like. It's extremely frustrating when your mind wants to do one thing and your body won't cooperate. I can see why people with physical ailments get depressed. Anyway, we have a to do list and tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully, we get more accomplished. DH isn't happy he has to "work" during father's day, but I told him too bad it's part of the job. We ordered Outback for dinner which was yummy and meant we didn't have to cook. D's appetite is back. He finally ate a great lunch and dinner, which tells me he is feeling better. His cough is still around, but nothing like it was a few days ago.
Those are all good physical signs, here's to hoping labor is impending! I am sorry you're stressed about the to-do list left before the baby comes, but use your nesting energy to power through it, if you can. Daemon's a smart boy for making that connection, I know Lilah isn't there yet, in terms of figuring out that a new baby is coming!
It's been busy around here. Yesterday, I spent getting the upstairs straightened up and organized. It was a lot of standing and moving around (no lifting). I had to sit down several times yesterday to stop the braxton hicks. When I'm standing or sitting in the car I get them a lot now. I had a ton yesterday. Anyway, DS has been cosleeping since birth and around 22 mos. we put him in his own twin on the floor next to the king to start the transition out to make room for the new baby. Yesterday was the day to get his bedroom organized and ready for him to move on in. He did really well with the transition. He was a little scared with the new surroundings, but he was a trooper and slept great! He's napping in there again right now. I am so proud of him! This morning we drove over to my mom's house. D fed the fish in her pond and then got his first hair cut. It looks so stinkin' cute! After his haircut we went down to her beach and went swimming. The water felt so good! Having this belly buoyant was a really nice relief on my back and ligaments. D had the absolute best time in the water. When we got home we ate lunch and then D went down for his nap. DH and I just did my belly cast. It is really cool. I wish I had done one with DS to compare. I can't wait to decorate it.
Alright, off to listen to some Hypnobabies, while D is still sleeping.
